Trump’s Threat of a Third-Party Run Is Undercut by ‘Sore Loser’ Laws

7dpc9i.jpg

(Bloomberg) -- Donald Trump hates losing so much that he has suggested he will mount a third-party campaign if he doesn’t win the Republican presidential nomination.

But he can’t win that way either, thanks to “sore loser” laws in six states he would need to return to the White House.

Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas, as well as Arkansas and Alabama, have laws that bar a candidate defeated in a major-party primary from running as an independent or on a third-party ticket in the general election. That would put Trump at the general-election starting gate with a deficit of 91 electoral votes of the 270 required to capture the White House.

They put him in a freezer I think. Yikes.

Ironically that case will be solved by law enforcement so, yea...suck it.

Ironically that murder was caused by law enforcement...and then they were caught lying about it

For civilians that would result in prison time...

lol, it will result in prison time for these people here as well, goofball. They are freaking screwed.

And their jail staff are NOT (POST) certified law enforcement officers. They are in fact civilians without the powers of arrest.

They are people hired off the street who were willing to work in a jail. That may be a sad reality but it's also the truth.

Oh good, ray ray the cop hater is back. Can we just start locking threads when he get in the ditch about this topic? We have several current and former cops here, no one has time for ray ray's bigotry toward our fine law enforcement.

Maybe you should read the article Barney since this is about the actions & statements of the SHERIFF'S office

So now unless you're going to claim civilian jail employees are wearing Sheriff vests in the video and posted on the Sheriff's web site about the murder victim then you don't have a clue what's being discussed (no surprise)

I would ask a 3rd party to step in and read for Barney but we all know you're not capable 🤣

I read the story weeks ago goofball and I know better than you what's going on with it, clearly.

Civilian jail employees often wear Sheriff vests while transporting inmates...which is what you saw in the picture.

Civilian employees of the Sheriff's department often wear clothing that says Sheriff's Department on it. Not in my department, mind you, but in many (perhaps most???) they do.

When a death occurs in a jail, for example, a written statement is provided by all parties involved. That is called an incident report. That statement is what is referenced on the Sheriff's Department website.

In any event, every death that occurs while a person is in custody is investigated by an outside agency...in this case, as is true in most every similar case in Alabama, that agency is the SBI (State Bureau of Investigations).

The people responsible never had a chance of getting away with this. The dead guys internal body temp was recorded by the physician at the local hospital. That internal body temp was impossible given that the inmate died inside of a climate controlled jail...given the story that these idiots told.

Your ignorance on this subject, and indeed on many subjects, is not a reflection on me.

You're so uninformed that you don't even know what you don't know...that I do in fact know. 😂

So what? That means they're working for the Sheriff's department right?
Whether or not they're "civilian" employees that's who the Sheriff's Dept employs to handle the custodial role

As usual you want to move the debate to something that's irrelevant

Tell that to Ronald Greene's family in Louisiana where it took 3.5 years to even indicte the officers involved

And they were protected the entire state law enforcement organization who actively tried to coverup the murder

5 Louisiana law officers indicted in 2019 beating death of Black motorist Ronald Greene

Decision comes more than 3 years since Greene, 49, died in Louisiana State Police custody in Union Parish

Just trying to educate you. I know, I know...it was a fools errand.

In this case, that you seemed to take joy in providing for me, it appears that a civilian, not a cop or Sheriff's Deputy, is responsible for this man's death.

This was NOT an incident report

That isn't the incident report that I was referring to...and that report had NOTHING to do with his death. That was about his arrest. I was referring to this report...that was about his death. Derp.

"On Thursday, January 27th, an inmate in the Walker County Jail was provided a routine medical check by jail medical staff. Medical staff determined the inmate needed to be transported to the hospital for further evaluation,” the statement said. “The inmate was alert and conscious when he left the facility and arrived at the hospital. Shortly after arrival at the hospital, the inmate suffered a medical emergency and became unresponsive. Life saving efforts were performed by hospital staff and the inmate was ultimately revived. Unfortunately, a short time later, the inmate passed away.”

There's no way that report is true or accurate based on the victim’s internal body temp that was taken by the physician at the hospital.

Poor Barney needs to create the arguments he responds to...
Now being an employee of the Sheriff's Dept means you aren't a part of "law enforcement"

This is what you said about that reference in the article

As usual you were wrong

Again, just trying to educate you re: sworn LEO (me) and a civilian employee (not me). The fact that you're resisting said education surprises no one.

And it's abundantly clear that you were unaware as you made statements above about the Sheriff's vest. Now you're shifting your argument because you're beginning to understand your ignorance.

You're welcome.

PS...if they're guilty, and it certainly appears that they are, I want them prosecuted. I think they will be. They're cooked imho.

Nothing needs interpreted.

Who said anything about interpretation?

Barney can't read...lies a lot...but so does malone so he's of no help here 🤣

You clearly hate BAD cops.

Fixed that for you

You clearly think they are evil and don't like that they enforce the laws against you.

Actually this is a discussion of the laws that don't enforce on themselves

I think we can all guess why.

Cops in Alabama kill a white guy in their custody and lie about it and you can guess why I/m critical of these cops?

Please do tell.

LOL, the statement on the arrest is linked in the article.

The statement about the inmates death is included in the text of the article. 😂

Good news...no one cares how he feels about us.

I deal with people like him all the time...when they call us for help.

"I don't even like cops...but the reason I called you out here is..."

Would it surprise you to learn that I've arrested a LEO?

What if I told you I've done it more than once?

You are wholey unaware of your ignorance. I want to help but it's difficult to overcome your resistance to it.

Like I said you seem unable to read...I said they were part of "law enforcement"...are they not?

They are employees of the Sheriff's Dept...which is why they are allowed to wear the vests.

Those civilian member of the Sheriff's Dept did not write/approve the official statement on the websote and they certainly didn't write/approve the lie that the Sherrif's office was caught in about victim's conscious

You're welcome.

PS...if they're guilty, and it certainly appears that they are, I want them prosecuted. I think they will be. They're cooked imho.

Its nice you want them prosecuted but obviously some parts of Sheriff's Office attempted to lie about the incident

As was obviously the case in Louisiana also

What does it matter that you've arrested a LEO...other than to admit LEOs just like anybody else commit crime?

You think that admission means no one should be critical of the police?

The statement on their website was based on the incident reports written by the civilian employees.

Now, if you want to criticize, yes...it was incredibly stupid for the department to comment based on those incident reports....or to even comment at all about an open investigation. That's incredibly stupid and irresponsible imho.

The employees tried to cover up their actions and it certainly appears that they lied on those incident reports. That should be another charge and would be if this were my case.

These people were HORRIBLE liars btw. Seriously, that was just ridiculous.

That's what I posted ...the Facebook statement from the Sheriff's Dept.

They have since taken down the statement so I made a capture of it and posted

The people involved tried to lie.

The Sheriff's Department itself was just stupid for commenting on an ongoing investigation. This is why you don't do that.

Once the facts came in, this just isn't a lie that any reasonable person would tell or believe. These were desperate people grasping at straws and they helped to incriminate themselves in the process.

You're an idiot and I'm tiring of you.

You make an argument that we cover for one another because we're corrupt. And yes, you've said that about me directly.

I inform you that I've arrested cops...proving that what you said about me is bulls1t. You then pivot and say, "that proves LEO's commit crime too."

Well no sh1t, genius. I didn't arrest them for sh1ts and giggles. I did it because they broke the law. And who has ever said that cops never break the law?

Seriously, I'm getting bored with your bulls1t. Do better or I'm done with you.

The information on the arrest itself was linked in that article. That isn't what I was referring to. So can we please stop beating this freaking dead horse? 😂 Holy crap man...you're like a retarded dog with a bone with crap like this.

AND I'M VERY BORED WITH IT.

Newsflash...police lie on reports & testimony ALL OF THE TIME...
I guess there are A LOT of people employed as LEOs that are "unreasonable"

The thin blue line & police unions make lying a very reasonable option for a bad cop

Then you should strap on a gun and a badge and go after them like I do instead of just b1tching about it on a message board.

I went back and looked...all told I've arrested 7 people who were in law enforcement (civilian and sworn) that I can recall. 4 plead guilty, 1 was found guilty and 2 cases are pending. There may well be others that I don't readily recall.

Put up or shut up. Only one of us is putting up. If that doesn't work for you, find someone else to lecture.

That doesn't prove anything

Take the case in Tennessee recently...Not only the cops who beat that man were fired and charged but the cops who didn't do anything like stop them or report them

Is it your contention that they never saw or knew of the Scorpion unit acting illegally?

Conveniently ignore the Louisiana case?
Structural coverup of a murder for years by everyone from the arresting officers to the leadership

Is anyone supposed to believe no cops saw illegal abusive behavior before the reported incidents?

Well no sh1t, genius. I didn't arrest them for sh1ts and giggles. I did it because they broke the law. And who has ever said that cops never break the law?

That was no "pivot "... the point is lots of criminal behavior by LEOs are shielded by other LEOs

To say otherwise is just lying

When you get past making excuses for the Alabama, Louisiana, & Tenn cases then you can think up something exculpatory about the Baltimore & NYC cases of cops planting drugs on people.

And then the Los Angeles case of gangs in their police departments

And then the case of...

Seriously, I'm getting bored with your bulls1t. Do better or I'm done with you.

I'll let you in a personal secret of mine. I'm friend with a former cop who has been the head of one of the major police unions in South Florida...was the Florida representative on Obama's 21st century task force on police reform. He's shared with me tons of background on police illegal behavior reported in the news down here....hr knows since its primarily was his responsibility to defend them in court and termination proceedings.

Let me just say he privately admits to much of what you can't seem to admit to

Cool. Sorry you feel that way but being an ass is your right as an American.

Good luck with it.
