Regardless if Hitler was a righty or a lefty, one thing is certain, he was a racist murderer. Today, not all of the righties/Republicans are racist, but all of the racist identify with the Republicans. Therefore, if you call yourself a Republican, and you're not a racist, you should be doing some serious self reflection and reassessing your political party. The history books do need to be revised. The true history of #America needs to be taught in schools. The true levels of cruelty of the founders during slavery, during post reconstruction, during JimCrow, and during 60's and beyond should be taught to all Americans. The true reason poverty is so pervasive in the Black community, what happen to Blacks and their communities when whites perceived they were doing too well, should be in the history books. If the true history was taught, instead of the sanitized version which is designed to make whites only slightly uncomfortable with the behavior of their forefathers, we'd all be a lot better off. #TruthIsTruth...!

That's where the fine Republican "Tricky Dick" Nixon comes into play. Because of LBJ's passing of Civil Rights and Voting Rights legislation, the disaffected southern Dems wanted to leave the party. Nixon, who wanted to be president so bad he would kill his mother, saw this as an opportunity, and thus the "Southern Strategy" was born. Nixon cultivated the mass exodus of racist Dems from the Democrat Party, and welcomed them and their racist ideas with open arms. Therefore, the GOP became the GWP "Grand Wizard Party". The southern states handed Nixon the presidency, and he supported their racist ideology. All of the Black Republicans fled the party and became Democrats, and the Dems became the party of diversity.
So, if you're going to tell the story, tell the facts! Don't try and fold history to your will. Some of us know the history!

No, rich whites valued the slaves more than "dirt poor whites". At least the slave had value (which is another story ab the early American economic system). Poor whites represented little to no value, but they were easily manipulated into thinking their whiteness made them better than the Blacks. This made them perfect for the low paying jobs as "overseeers". The biggest reward for the work was the ability to take out their frustration ab being poor on the slaves. Their cruelty knew no bounds! Poor whites had freedom, but in reality, their existence was as bad or worst than some of the slaves. If it wasn't for their mistreatment of the slaves, I could almost feel sorry for them.
