Another site reporting that Florida didn't accept a commitment from four-star Jeremiah Johnson.
"...I feel bad for Johnson, who obviously thought that his offer was committable and that he was in fact pledged to the Orange & Blue.
I don't know if it is because Florida has others on the board ahead of him, or perhaps there is another reason, but I still hate it for the young man.
I have no idea what went on between he and Florida, but he thought that he had a committable offer and his commitment - a very public one at that - was accepted."
Florida will put out 400 or so offers per cycle, and obviously not all can be committable. That goes for each and every program in the nation. That's just part of recruiting.
However, as I stated in another thread, Florida has staff who do nothing but monitor social media. This runaway train has been rushing down the tracks for 36 hours - with post after post of his previewing his upcoming decision to commit to Florida. Every single person knew what was coming, how did someone from the staff not get in-front of this sooner and put the brakes on it?
"...This has been about as screwed up a pledge as it gets. Johnson told Olivia that Mullen told him he had a commitable offer and he told her that he committed to Larry Scott over the phone.
Then, after he went public and there was none of the ordinary social media response by Florida I asked three different people on that side if UF accepted the pledge, before finally being messaged by one of them that UF hadn't.
Johnson though was adament with Olivia that they had.
Fun, fun, fun. Unless of course you are Jeremiah Johnson. I hope for his sake they really have taken it."
Gators not supposed to screw up this way !
GO GATORS !!
