It is nice to see sports teams that disparage Native Americans and promote racism...

And if the team was the Oklahoma State Seminoles, this might mean something.
Ridiculous, really they are only in Oklahoma because they were forcibly removed by andrew jackson. Seminole tribe is seminole tribe, and the only part of it not pissed is the part that got paid off.

That was true at one point...iirc they would even protestest outside of Doak. But since 2005 Chief Jerry Haney of the Seminole Tribe of Oklahoma has publicly stated his support. (I'm certain there are members within both the Florida and Oklahoma tribes that don't support the imagery, though, but they are the minority). Furthermore, the Seminole Tribe of Florida is responsible for the design of Chief Osceola's wardrobe.

The white guy painted up in red face chucking a spear is a nice touch, they invent that part too?

No, THAT''s ridiculous. So if there's Seminoles in China, they would have to appease them as well? It's their fault for not jumping on the gravy train.

I don't give F$U credit for anything, but in this case they did right by the FLORIDA Seminoles. Seminoles in other places can make their own deals, or get the **** over it.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida is involved in and approves of all Florida State University Seminole imagery and tradition. Whether that's because we line their pockets and offer full scholarships to Native Seminole Indians is yet to be determined. But as it stands, Chief Osceola trott'n out on Renegade is an approved tradition.

Of note, the Seminole Tribe of Florida requested Osceola and Renegade make an appearance at the annual Brighton Field Days Festival. So apparently they like the white guy and his painted face.
