IT…IS…GATOR…FOOTBALL…WEEK! Let’s pick the Utah game…

Aaron Taylor is starting the season off with a big upset pick as the CBS Sports Network analyst made a prediction sure to find its way to the Utah locker room.

It’s pretty cool that we are a 2.5 underdog at home in the Swamp on Sep. 3 with a new head coach…

…and Utah has bulletin board material from an unknown analyst with CBS Sports Network…

just sayin’…

We have the unknown factor going for us in the opener. Utah doesn't know us like they'd know a more notable foe they can prepare for like Ohio State or USC. That being said, CBS's Aaron Taylor is spot-on in his assessment. The pressure is squarely upon Utah. Gators play free and loose and eventually win B-I-G!

Whittingham basically said they focused on looking at Louisiana's style and our individual players. You could tell he was worried about how Richardson is such a threat with his legs.

We just have to stop that running game of theirs especially that big RB they have. That is what worries me the most that we don't hold up on the D line all game and they start running over our safeties like bowling pins which we saw last season. Hopefully Grantham being gone makes that way less likely to happen.

Oh with Grantham history, our D will be vastly improved schematically and athletically. Dexter is an NFL-type coming off the edges and can also play inside. AR-15 will kill them with his legs. Huge difference playing UL-L and Florida.

Hopefully their big running back gets a case of the fumbles like he had early on last year.

Our DTs and safeties are a major concern for me.

Hoping I'm wrong, but I think Utah's experience and running game wins out . Utah 34 - UF 24.
The heart says 52-7 Gators, the brain says we have too many unknowns to possibly make anything close to an accurate prediction.

The heart then tells the brain to STFU.

It's looking like rain is likely a little before the game or around the start time. Hopefully there is no lightning delay.

Not sure about that, but sadgator would bet that Gatorshime bedazzle’s his underwear…

Its looking more like storms could happen at game time. Also the reel feel temp is not going to be that bad at all for Utah as its literally 13 degrees cooler than it would have been with a 3:30 kickoff. Only 84 degrees real feel temp with humidity included.

Glad to admit I was wrong in picking Utah. Great game to watch and an exciting way for it to end. Neither team could stop the other in the 2nd half and in spite of getting pushed around pretty good most of the night, the defense made 2 ginormous turnovers that saved touchdowns. Excellent way to open the season and have something positive to build on for next week and the rest of the season.

I am upping my regular season win predictions to 8-4.

UGA & TAMU are losses.

I think we go 2-2 with these 4 games.

KY & LSU at home; Tenn & S Carolina, on the road.

We won a close game; but our passing game not much today.

Our DTs and safeties are a major concern for me.
Four of the Top 6 with tackles:

S Dean -------- 12 Tkls, 6/6, TFL 1
WDE Cox ----- 10 Tkls, 3/7, TFL 0.5, QBH 1
S R.Torrence -- 7 Tkls, 5/2
DT Dexter ----- 5 Tkls, 2/3, QBH 1

The #3 & #4 tacklers were the ILB's working between the S & DL.
Miller ---------- 9 Tkls, 3/6, TFL 0.5, PBU 1, QBH 1
Burney -------- 7 Tkls, 6/1,
Int 1

And they would all have done better if the game officials ever called UU for all of the holding they were getting away with. 0 holding calls on UU.
UU game penalties = 3 for 15 yds.... (KMA)
😠
