than last year’s team? I think the team is a better team than last years team. Now they may not win the CWS because I do think you need some things to go your way but IMO this team is better.

Sully has built UF into a monster.

Last year's team that won it all was one of the lowering performing teams of the Sully era. They just had a knack for winning close games and then got hot in Omaha. They barely got out of their own regional and lost a game in the Supers. But in the CWS they were great in all phases of the game. This year's team is loaded and playing excellent. But it's all about the post season.

Better question is how do we only have 1 CWS championship?

Let's make it two this year.

It's a crap shoot once a team gets to Omaha. All the teams that make it are playing well to get there and it's just about which team stays hot, gets timely hitting & pitching. Florida has had the best team in the CWS several times in the past and couldn't win it. Getting there consistently is the most remarkable achievement to me. Look at FSU & Mike Martin - soon to be the winningest coach ever. Been to Omaha 22 times and never won it. Hope they never do.

Unfortunately for you guys, if you rank sports it goes:

NFL,
CFB,
NBA,
MLB,
CBB
NHL,
Soccer
WNBA
Women's CBB
Minor league baseball
then College Baseball.

This. The Gators have had much more high octane talent loaded teams go to Omaha, both Sully's teams and pre Sully teams, than the 2017 team but in college baseball the best team doesn't win the whole enchilada as often like in other sports.

Considering the 2018 Gators already have like 10 more Homers in 40 or so games than the 2017 Gators had in their entire 70 or so games season, this year's offense is way better. And the 2018 starting rotation has lower ERA and better records than the 2017 starters did through this stage of the season. Only the bullpen and closer has down ticked since last season.

We are killing ranked teams this season, last season we squeaked through more games.

Sidenote, like half of our losses are to midweek games vs UCF and JU, lol, but we slaughter ranked teams every weekend. Shows you the discrepancy in downplayed nonconference mid week games vs serious weekend conference series. Although, under Sully we straight dominate FSU and Miami every year in the nonconference.

UF is way way better this year than last year!!! They had all kinds of problems winning games last year where this year they are killing it… I think they have a better chance this year to win it all than they did last year…

If you compare batting averages last year to this year, this year is way better…

Unfortunately for you crimi-troll twits, if you ranks college sports conferences, it's:

SEC(14) - First Power-5 to expand and have a Conf Championship game.
And UF virtually OWNS the SEC All Sports Trophies, (Men's, Women's, Combined).
UF has the most total SEC Championships since it's founding in 1933. o_O
This is known as being the BEST, of the Best.....
-----

Big-Ten(14)
PAC-Twelve(12)
Big-Twelve(10)
Almost Competitive Conf(14)

UF is the ONLY school in the Nation to finish in the Top 10 for the Directors Cup for the last 34 Consecutive Years.

While you have the Horror of being the FSUcks Criminoles in Tallycrappy.....

This year’s team is no doubt more talented, although half the lineup got drafted last year. And the pitching staff is deeper. But last year’s team had Faedo. If I had to pick any Gator pitcher from the Sully era to start a must win game, I’d pick Faedo and wouldn’t think about it for two seconds.

But this is one of the top 3 or 4 most talented teams in the history of Gator athletics.

Woohoo, go women's swimming!

Keep pretending losing a combined nine straight to FSU in the two biggest sports doesn't keep you up at night.

Hopefully this is just a bump in the road, but the Gators are 2-3 over their last 5 games, including home losses to Jacksonville & Mercer. Midweek pitching has been very bad the last 2 weeks. One thing I've noticed too is that we are striking out more & more (14 tonight, 13 Saturday as an example). Could that be because the guys have fallen in love with the long ball and have gotten away from just making solid contact and protecting the plate with 2 strikes? Baseball is a long season and there are ups & downs, but to me the upcoming series with Auburn is very important. We will be facing 2 top notch starting pitchers in Casey Mize & Tanner Burns, plus a solid closer in Calvin Coker. We may be putting out a new starter for Saturday's game in Jack Leftwich and you know he will be a little nervous. Keenan Bell is down to .217 and playing less and less. Blake Reese has tailed off to .257. Maldanado's average is in the .280's for the 1st time this year and Dalton has 50 strikeouts, Schwarz 44. I'm not panicking by any means because the team has been playing amazing ball. But I, also, don't discount losing to inferior teams even in midweek games, nor in being held to 2 hits on Sunday by KY.

Lol, it obviously means something for you to come here...click on the thread...and reply.

Yes FSU has our # in the big sports.

Still don't mean we can't like baseball or be proud of it.

When we were even in football and ahead in basketball in the 90's/early 00's(plus ahead in football latter 00's) you guys hyped FSU baseball and the legend that Martin is.

Look I dislike UT more than anybody. We were their monkey on back in the 90's and pretty much dominated the series since like 04. It doesn't bother me they take pride in their lady's hoop program. I never went to their board and clicked on a lady basketball post less long replied.

Can y'all simply let us discuss baseball?

Punks :p

Yeah, the guy's a hypocritical idiot.

Yep, keeps me awake so much that I spend all my time posting on the crimitrolls snore-rant board... Oh wait. -- Doh!

How about the Men's Big-3, if we're going to do some sports team cherry pickin'....
(Women's sports in tallycrappy are controlled and managed by Chief Slap-a-Ho himself)

Football NC's -- UF 3 -- FSUcks 3
Of course the criminoles do have the advantage of not getting beat up all season with SEC level competition. They instead skate through their usual Almost Competitive Conference chumps.

Basketball NC's - UF 2 --- 0 FSUcks :D:p:D
(FSUcks supposedly joined the ACC to improve and win championships in B-Ball) LMFAO :D

Baseball NC's -- UF 1 --- 0 FSUcks :D:D:p:p:D:D
FSUcks is O-fer 20-something for an All Time NCAA Loser Record....

UF currently ranked #1 -- And BTW, another SWEEP of the baseball suk-noles.
@ UF 12 - 6 FSUcks - @ Jax UF 1 - 0 FSUcks - @ FSUcks 3 - 6 UF :p
Combined Season Sweep Score = UF 19-9 FSUcks

And why do the sucky criminole fans diss on the Director's Cup Standings?

Because they are barely competitive in their single 'football factory' sport, with their gud-chrissham-boyz....
-----
I would move the FSUcks game to the 2nd game of the season. That way the criminoles would no longer be getting the Gators all beat up from a season of SEC play, and the week before they might have to play an SEC-C game.

But NOooooo.
The crims don't want that change, because they damn-sure know the advantage it gives them. Consequently, I'd drop them from the UF schedule, until and unless they relented on when the game is played. (it's long past time for the UF Admin to grow a set) o_O

FYI - FSU has won 17 national championships, 5 of them in the 1950's in gymnastics (2) and men's volleyball (3). They've only won 4 in the new millenium (men's outdoor track in 2006 & 2008, football in 2013 & women's soccer in 2014). Two of these titles are in women's SLOWPITCH softball in 1981 & 1982. Their athletic program has only finished in the Top 10 all-around sports programs just 4 times in the 35 years these ranking have been compiled, their highest finish being 5th twice (2009-10 & 2011-12). Not exactly an athletic juggernaut.

Florida, on the other hand, has won 40 national titles, 24 of those since 2000. These titles include 1 in baseball, 2 in basketball, 3 in football, 4 in men's golf, 4 in men's indoor track, 4 in men's outdoor track, 2 in men's swimming, 2 in women's golf, 4 in women's gymnastics, 1 in women's indoor track, 1 in women's soccer, 2 in softball, 3 in women's swimming and 7 in women's tennis. In addition, UF athletics is the ONLY NCAA program to finish in the Top 10 rankings of all-around sports programs every year since they started doing it (1983-84), 25 of those years in the Top 5, 9 times in the Top 3.

No wonder there's jealousy and resentment from Nolies.

Kinda saw this maybe coming for a while now.

Freshman Leftwich is replacing Soph Dyson in the weekend starting rotation.
Not necessarily a permanent change, but just to see how it works out for both of them.
Dyson was great coming in out of the bullpen, but has struggled lately as a starter.

Dyson has definitely lost his confidence and just can't locate his pitches anymore. Time to give someone else a shot. We're so spoiled with the depth and quality of our pitching staff, things like this are common with other teams. Leftwich has a ton of potential and it will be interesting to see how he does. And I have a feeling Dyson will get his head straight and be a factor down the road.

Jack Leftwich – The freshman showed some nerves early, hitting the leadoff batter and walking the next batter before Julien's home run put the Gators behind 0-3. But after the homer Leftwich retired 19 of the next 22 hitters and kept the Tigers at bay. He finished with 6.2 innings and 3 runs allowed on 4 hits with 7 strikeouts.

Leftwich was replaced in the seventh after 6.2 innings.
Jordan Butler (1.1 IP) and Michael Byrne (1.0 IP) finished off the Tigers.

Don't forget that in between Leftwich & Butler was Dyson. He faced 2 batters, hit the first then gave up a single; then Butler came in.

Did his dog die or his girlfriend 'dear john' him???
I think that Dyson might need to take a week off and go to the beach or sumptin'....
