To be a great head coach you have to include all factors. Development of players, CEO skills, X’s and O’s, Recruiting, Assembling a staff, etc.

Top to bottom Saban runs a top notch program. Recruiting wise, assistant coach wise, player development wise, strength and conditioning wise, and all else that falls with running a program. He replaces assistant coaches and star players without missing a beat.

I’m not sure SOS was ever much of a fan of recruiting. I think had he been more of a salesman and less of the opinion that he only wanted guys who wanted to be there, he might have a couple more NC’s. He let bowden lie and trick a lot of guys into going to sow and wasting their talent at a place that was and is a stain on college football, education, America, and humanity in general. If he had the recruiting skill of Urban Meyer, the guy might well have been unstoppable. As it is I think he’s a genius, and damn glad he was in our side. I can only imagine how infuriating he must have been for uga and ut fans.
