Is our little corner of the internet going away?

Most notable poster-driven highlight moments in past 20 years…

5. Gecko’s war with Alabama fans.
4. Insta’s 1000+ post-years long fight about aliens in the “Holy Crap Seminoles were the first North Americans” thread.
3. Bucanole’s backfire smack citing T-Pain-Big Boi show and subsequent immediate FSU crash and burn (end of Bucanole).
2. BONG’s eventual high-profile complete meltdown and self-destruction over Muschamp’s incompetence (“Georgia Boy”).
1. Laker-Shime reveal.
Don't forget Swami's drunken rampage where he signed up a bunch of rivals to porn sites!

All great moments

Didn’t we also have a trial that JD sat as judge?

It will suck if it ends, but sadgator’s had a good and satisfying posting run.

Laker-Shime will tell you that sadgator hasn’t paid a dime to this site (or any prior iteration) since joining in 2002.

sadgator would say he’s gotten more than his money’s worth of free posting outlet space in those years.

We’ve had some interesting characters, good debates, many ups and downs, and a great deal of laughs.

Only a few of us regulars from the heyday remain as “consistent” current posters and as sad as it would be to see it shut down, we’re admittedly not the most valuable part of the portfolio.

It’d be fun to have one last big hurrah of a successful football season to see all the old names return for a celebratory culmination, but realistically, our end will probably be an unceremonious lockout or invalid url one day.
I think I've been on these series of boards since 1997 or 98. Someone later posted a photoshop of Peter Warrick in a Heisman pose with a Dillards tag on it. 😂 I was here when Spurrier resigned. The board melted down, you couldn't log in for 3 days that January 2002. I am not sure but I believe this site 1.0 was run by the Gainesville Sun, Gatorbait. I've seen more site owners come and go than I own underwear in my dresser drawer. I'm pretty sure I am the oldest fossil here still posting (senority-wise, not age wise).

It's so fitting that I have the follow up post to insta.

And igloo...really? No mention of me? 🙄 not one?
Well, I did mention you here.

Thought you outgrew us.

If I remember correctly, there were two Gator sites on the original Rivals network. Gator Country's early days were here and there was another called The Swamp dot com. They had some temporary shut down/reboot and GC and The Swamp went independent.

Gator Bait magazine ran it for a while. Marty and Laura Cohen (again if memory hasn't failed) then it went multiple other routes. I'm thinking the former recruiting guru Jamie Newberg had a hand in it at one point in time (maybe not). It's survived a handful of owners and platforms.
