Recruiting activity is picking up for 2023 Hawthrone High School quarterback Tyler Jefferson. The dual-threat laid down a foundation during his junior campaign bringing in 10 offers so far. The developing skills have a long list of teams showing interest with one of those schools getting Jefferson on campus twice this week.
The list of schools that may be the next to offer includes Florida, Western Kentucky, Arizona, Kansas, Tennessee State, Illinois and Miami. The Gators will see the in-state QB twice this week on Wednesday and Saturday.
Jefferson shared his enthusiasm for the trips to Gainesville.
“Florida is really exciting for me growing up in the Gainesville area,” Jefferson said. “I live about 20 minutes away and my school is about 15 minutes. Florida is so close. This is something I have looked forward to for a long time.”
The relationship between the Gators and Jefferson is developing quickly.
“It is definitely good,” Jefferson stated. “They text me about every other day seeing how the team and how my family is doing.”
Florida is one of many programs that will swing by Jefferson’s Hawthorne campus this spring to watch Jefferson during the Hornets’ spring practices.
“I know for sure Kansas State, Alcorn State, Florida, Western Kentucky and I think Central Michigan,” Jefferson shared. “I know Troy will be back along with Yale, Middle Tennessee, Georgia Southern, and some others.”
