UPDATE (8/28/15): According to Martez Ivey's father, Marty Ivey, arthroscopic surgery was successful and went well for Martez this morning for the slight tear in the meniscus of his left knee. Had it cleaned up.
Martez is being cautious with his injury, Marty said, but they think he'll be out only for a few weeks. They're hopeful he'll return by the Kentucky game. "They said he'll probably miss about two games," Marty Ivey said. "By the third game, he'd be ready to compete."
The Orlando Sentinel, which spoke to Ivey's high school O-line coach, first reported late Thursday night that Ivey would miss about 2-4 weeks after having surgery on the injury.
Ivey suffered the injury in a Wednesday night practice during a goal-line drill but continued to practice. The next day, it was swollen so he got an MRI on it.
------
Just spoke with Ivey's father. Martez had arthoscopic surgery in high school before his senior season on his meniscus in his knee, so the issue could be that. He's waiting on MRI results currently, he said of his son.
Ivey's dad said the injury happened on a goal-line drill during practice recently.
