First off, let's just keep it factual. Mississippi, besides being poverty stricken, is just one Archie Manning away from being Vanderbilt. So, beating them today no cause to claim Florida is back. Gators won today in spite of some serious bonehead crap from Napier. DJ still hurting, so what he was able to do was impressive. He's one cool customer. Defense got pushed around most of the game, but stood up when it mattered in the last 8 minutes. Hopefully we can pull in some recruits, hit the portal, and Nappy head will hire a young gun offensive coordinator. Now lets go beat the nolies.

With an experienced Lagway next season Napier should be fired if we lose over 3 games where he is the QB next season.

Nobody suffers from winning as much as a Gator fan.

We just beat 2 ranked teams in back to back weeks for the first time since 2008, and this i the celebration?

You should be enjoying yourselves right now.

Hard to get excited for 7-5 but I am really hopeful for next season with Lagway if we make some good portal moves.

Where are we without one Steve Spurrier?

Were you even alive in the 90's? This makes zero sense. I think you are also forgetting who won our school's first Heisman.
What are you talking about? Gators had some success in the 80's and we've had some success after SOS. We've had 2 additional Heisman winners since SOS. Ole Miss has zero Heisman winners and their last sec football title was 1963.

But where would we be without Spurs? Do you recall that Miami and FSU were superpowers in the 90's? We would have been the afterthought without SOS. How do we entice Meyer without the success under Spurs? You need to rethink a lot of things.

Yes. Any one of us could get hit by a bus tomorrow.

Enjoy the fact that we just made LSU and Ole Miss fans suck lemons for two straight weeks…so fun!!!!!

That literally makes zero sense. How would have FSU enticed Willie Taggert without Bowden? 😂

Do you think Meyer, an up and coming coach that lots of schools were interested in, comes to a program that never won a natty, never won an SEC title, and was a nothingburger in the state with FSU and Miami? I can't see it.

After getting lectured about all things great in Mississippi including a real estate lesson, my only point is that Ole Miss is one Archie Manning away from having the same football notoriety as Vandy. Yes, SOS is the godfather of UF football. No question and no doubt. But Florida's had life outside of SOS, where as Ole Miss not so. So again, not sure what you are talking about?

Well, Ole Miss' best team was 1962, 10-0. They won 6 SEC titles, all before Manning. Manning never won a Heisman, never won an SEC title, never won anything, and since Manning they have never won anything. So you could make the argument that Manning made things worse. If Manning hadn't had sons that played QB, we would never hear about him. So I am unsure what YOU are talking about.

I can't see it. But we could have easily gotten a crap coach, like, for example, Willie Taggart.
But without Spurrier and Meyer, we'd never had such Gator greats as Muschamp and McElwain.
We can play this game forever. 😂

Speaking of Mannings, Peyton never won a Heisman or a Natty. He had to graduate first for UT to steal one. 😂

We aren't playing a game, you are just spouting nonsense.
Once, again...........foiled! 😂

That's exactly my point! All most people know about Ole Miss is Archie...without him most folks can't tell you much...Not even sure SOS is the most well known Gator any longer...

Let me explain, maybe you will get it. Country was talking about the difference one person made in a program, saying that Ole Miss was "Vandy" without Manning. Which is untrue, all their success was before Manning, he really didn't make a difference. But my question is, would UF be any better than Vandy without Spurs? I didn't say it was or wasn't, merely posed the question. Country's response was that everything that happened after Spurs would have happened anyway, to which point I disagree. I think there was a cascade effect post-Spurrier.

You, on the other hand, have come in and mentioned random coaches, some not even at either of the programs under discussion, and think you have made a point. What you have actually done is make yourself look foolish. The pity is you can't even see it, and likely won't even after reading this.

Loopy Lizard hates logic. History does not define the future results. I hope you are not a stock analyst or a financial planner. 😂

Just people with no sense of history. The greatest name in Ole Miss football is Jonny Vaught. The greatest name in UF football is Steve Spurrier. The greatest name in UT football is Robert Neyland (Just threw that in there for funsies).

No, as you know, I am a CPA. So I understand far better than you that the past results do not guarantee future outcomes. But that is different from saying the past INFLUENCES the future. Continue to dig that hole, bud.

Which is the majority of today's population. But I was being tongue and cheek with the original comment. And also being perfectly candid, the post was really intended for an audience of one...
