...a friend of my wife's....happened suddenly this week. She is at Shands.

""Have you ever noticed the Donate Life flag flying above the entrance to UF Health Shands Hospital? It is flown each time there is an organ donor at the hospital, paying respects to donors and their family members, as they made the choice to give the gift of life.

Yesterday, September 21st, that flag was flown in honor of Carmen Roberson Greiner. It will continue to fly until her organs are placed.

Because of a choice she made early in life to become an organ donor, she is now helping 5 other people extend their own lives. Her heart, lungs, kidneys, liver and eyes have all been matched to recipients within the southeast. Surgery is scheduled for the morning of September 23rd at 11am. Please pray that each of the upcoming surgeries are a success.

So as a reminder to all of you Noles (yes that's coming from a Gator) watching the game tomorrow, just know that one of your own is truly making a difference in this world.

If you're interested in becoming an organ donor please visit www.donatelifeflorida.org or LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services.""

I too am an organ donor. I may be a cranky old fart, but maybe my organs will not be when I have gone to the great mystery

I am a donor on my license but some stuff may not be in the condition they want.

I can’t imagine why anyone would want anything from me.

Liver filled with booze.

Lungs filled with tar.

Eyes that need glasses but refuse to wear them.

And a heart so big yet so broken it’s useless (plus you know tobacco/nicotine isn’t great for your cardiovascular system.
