Why try? Fournette couldn't run against them. Four-freaking-nette. I'd throw on every play until they got a rush only mentality, then maybe a draw. Probably the second half, because they simply won't believe that a team won't run. It's their mindset. "You can't win if you don't run, so we stop everybody running and we win". But what happens if we refuse to run it? Wr screen, bubble screen, crosses and slants, play action, show run and then not, if nothing else it would put them off balance. They won't understand it. They think they understand the language of football, but we will speak a different language.

Because, if we run, we won't run. We can't run against ANYBODY. If you KNOW you can't run, why run?

What I'm saying is, if we run, we fail. We will be down 20-0 at half and have 40 yards of total offense. I know it, you know it, we all know it. When you have nothing to lose, well...?

Well then they'd just tee off on our o-line with the pass rush and we've struggled to block the likes of ECU and Vandy so...

Treon would leave on a stretcher most likely. Sometimes you have to run just to run.

So you think we should throw on every down with a QB that has a under 50% completion percentage. Unfortunately that isn't going to work with the QB and oline we have. We are gonna have to at least try and run the ball.

This. You have to at least try and run. Harris would throw a bunch of picks and we would get beat even worse.

Yeah, we all know you can't literally do what Lizard said. You do have to try to get a running game. But it would be cool to see us try something radical in the game against them cuz lining up and trying to run smash mouth football ain't gonna cut it.

we aren't gonna try and play smash mouth football against them. That isn't Mac's style nor do we have the horses but throwing every down isn't going to work either.

So what's the game plan? BTW, hilarious we're already talking about our game with them.

Attack the seams. Bama runs lots of Man Free and Cover 3, you can exploit them deep in coverage if you can buy time. But the buying time part is where we might have an issue.

See, I don't think so. Bama has taken stopping the run to almost cult status. They simply won't BELIEVE a team refuses to run the ball unless it's late in the game and they are ahead and the other team is desperate. And the passing game for the most part would be designed to either roll Treon out or make short quick throws. Eventually, yes, they will figure it out, but I'll bet we get at least 20 minutes into the game, and maybe not until halftime, before they adjust.

And it will piss them off. You KNOW their defensive game plan will be to put 8 in the box and jam the run, force 2nd and 3rd and long, and come hard at the QB on third down. But if we just rear back and throw every down, It screws up their game plan. I think about what ECU did against us, it was pretty effective, just short quick passes.

Gotta do something.

Why not? We haven't been to the SECCG in a long time. Do YOU want to talk about South Carolina? BORING. And FSU, not overlooking them, but we do play them every year after all, and we've been talking about that game basically since last November. This game didn't become a reality until they climbed all over LSU tonight.

Im sorry guys but you are giving them far too much credit when you have seen the same LSU game plan not work for year after year against Bama. LSU is a joke coached richt team... Our coaches are not going to put us in the same situations and just lose on purpose like clueless Miles does with a joke offensive system and stubbornly run the ball until the game is over and they are down 10 or more with loaded sets and straight back tosses lol... I told everyone here that LSU was getting nothing but undeserved credit as usual and should have never actually beaten us even with the back up QB and the laughable calls that went their way.

Must be outstanding to be the Bama's and OSU's of the earth and never get called for holding ever though.

That and getting Treon to actually THROW the ball.

The problem being discussed is the one I brought up a few weeks ago. Yes, you guys have won some important games and have built a great record. Playing for the conference title is a big thing. But...what do you really do well on offense?

I think you need to focus on stuffing 'Bama's run...keep the game close and hope to be within a score near the end of the game. I think that means a balanced attack against 'Bama on offense to keep them honest. If you're in it it will be because of your defense.

LSU held UF to 51 rushing yards. A big UF kick return and LSU muffing a punt inside the ten kept the score respectable. Are you really suggesting LSU didn't deserve a win that day?

Did you even watch the game? LSU scored on basically a hail mary and a fake FG. It was a pretty evenly matched game.

I watched every down actually. LSU muffed a punt after stopping UF's first drive giving UF the ball deep in the red-zone at the 13. UF took advantage and scored an opening TD. LSU punted their next posession, but after that, LSU took over. They scored TD's the next four times they got the ball. They held UF to 51 yards rushing, and LSU ran for 221 on the day. UF had two TD drives on the day excluding the muffed punt gift. The other UF TD was on a 72 yard punt return.

LSU scored the fake FG with 10 minutes left in the game. UF drew blank the rest of the way.

LSU scored unconventional ways just as much as UF did. 7 points on basically a hair mary and 7 points on a fake FG. LSU won by 7 points and their GW TD was the fake FG. Pretty evenly matched game.

We took away different things from it obviously. No offense intended.

Automatic loss with Treon if we don't try to run as he cannot pass us to victory. He isn't good enough. Might as well forfeit if that is the case.

Interesting that Mos and BnB have not been on here singing his praises.

i assume based on the above you don't think the Clemson/FSU game was very close than? Clemson pretty much dominated the game going by your standards wouldn't you agree?

The stats suggest that the FSU/Clemson game was pretty one sided.

thats because you take away the long run at the beggening of the game by Cook and FSU's offense doesn't score a TD. Once Clemson settled down they totally stopped FSU's offense.

FSU's offense has been dreadful on the road against everyone, yet on their board they think they are going to put up 35 plus somehow against the best defense they will see... just because

I am interested to see how they do this weekend

Clemson dominated them. The score wasn't indicative of how that game went. Clemson got double the amount of first downs and 150 more yards of offense.

Personally, I don't like that Saban has worked with Mac and Nuss for 6 of the last 8 years.

And that we played them last year.

He forgot to mention not punting it as well. We should go four down territory every time. Why the hell not????

Actually, the score was entirely indicative of the game. FSU's defense wore out at the end after 85 plays. Clemson was the better team, but to say FSU was dominated is just dumb.

No one said that, even on the smack board.

Clemson had over 520 yards of offense I believe. 150 more yards than FSU. Clemson had 29 first downs to FSUs 14.More than double. Outside of the first play of scrimmage for FSU they were pretty much dominated the rest of the game. They only scored 6 points the rest of the way. The game was not as close as the score.

If you take away the 7 points and 75 yards on that first play and it looks REALLY bad.

Plus Celmson ran 76 plays and FSU ran 52, counting punts. FSU fans have a certain kind of delusion. Because the score was *barely* a double digit win, they think they did pretty well. In truth, they got one long Cook run and that was about it.

This is somewhat reminiscent of their delusion about the 2012 Florida win. They also will insist, INSIST they should have won that game, in spite of being dominating in every facet of the game.

Hail Mary TD before the half? No?

Lol we aren't beating Bama unless Treon progresses to At least Fhris Leak levels before Atlanta.
