I appreciate that you feel passionate antipathy towards the unvaccinated, but I have a serious question for you. How do you feel about the unvaccinated COVID-positive undocumented immigrants who come over the southern border with Mexico and make their way to various parts of the US?

Im not sure what you are asking. Should we require them to be vaccinated before they sneak in? Sure.
I‘m against illegal immigration in the first place but I do think the Righty media is just using them as a convenient scapegoat. They aren’t the reason for the rise in COVID. Their numbers pale in comparison to unvaccinated Americans.

I don’t think it’s that simple. 1776 can’t just yank the ventilation tubes out of unvaccinated, existing patients and tip them them out of bed to make room.
They’re bringing the lambda variant which will probably lead to another surge at some point.
Extremely dangerous and extremely irresponsible of our government with what they’re doing on the southern border during a pandemic. It will cost hundreds if not thousands of American lives someday.
Not only is that immoral and unethical, it’s also illegal because we’re not allowed to refuse emergency treatment to anyone on any basis in the United States thanks to the cobra laws.

Is there any science supporting the effectiveness of shutdowns? I may be wrong, but my impression is that COVID cases tend to surge when people spend more time indoors.

There are fewer tourists and the residents are staying inside where it’s air conditioned. Yet COVID is surging here.
Given that the virus seems to be spreading even among the vaccinated, it seems like the focus should be on using the vaccine to reduce cases of serious illness.

It’s a good question. Theoretically short shut downs for a week or two are affective I get certain Infectious agents and probably were trying with the hospitals get overrun like we are right now. There comes a point where it’s worth trying in my opinion. But if you don’t shut down then he really should wear a mask or stay 6 feet apart. Stain 6 feet apart has been shown to be effective. And wear a mask does have some evidence in indoor situation.
No, just no. No more shutdowns. It didn't work last time, it won't work any better this time. All that it accomplished was crippling the economy and supply chains, and induced the printing of worthless greenbacks. We all know it wouldn't be for merely two weeks either. Some states will drag it out for months AGAIN.
We do not have the power or the authority to do that. You are punishing people for your judgments based on your morals and that’s a very slippery slope.
We shut down for two weeks and the pandemic surged throughout. That’s why we shut down longer. If Covid retreated and hospitals got immediate relief don’t you think 15 days to stop the spread would have only been 15 days?
But this time is way different, I’m sure it’ll work great.
Actually it did work, but it was only temporary. Once we open things back up the infection spread then. That’s why am against long-term shut downs. But for two or three weeks here in there that actually does help the hospitals.

No I’m not talking about down the road I’m talking real time today. We have created two makeshift ICUs because all of our ICU beds are full. The more people to get infected over the next two weeks the more people will die because we’re out of space. We’re at a nurses. We’re running out of doctors. Running out of ventilators. There’s only so much I can do. That’s why creating a situation with less people get infected for a couple weeks is beneficial at the moment like this. I’m back to the point we’re having to pick who lives and dies
