What had to be one of the loudest environments I’ve ever experienced at The Swamp, one decibel reading was 117 during a key play in the fourth quarter, the noise and the environment clearly impacted Mississippi in that fourth quarter.
As I watch the highlights, I counted a couple of false starts, a couple of Audible’s that turned into blown plays because the running back or the receivers did not hear the Audible, and I’m pretty sure Dart and his red pantyhose covered head will have PTSD from the effects The Swamp had on him in the fourth quarter.
That is one of the greatest home-field advantages in a close tight fourth quarter game on the planet. It’s one of a handful of places I have been to or seen that can actually impact the outcome of a game.
Have not seen it like that where it truly impacted a big game in a long time.
It is clear how great Gator fans are when they need to be. It is clear how great a venue The Swamp really is especially when you need it.
I am so glad that Coach Billy Napier got to experience The Swamp at its greatest. As a good friend ( @kcflagator ) pointed out to me after the game,I am so glad Billy got to experience the love of Gator Nation and what it means to be a gator in The Swamp at a moment like that.
