I don't know. They are between a rock and a hard place.
I'm fairly certain the political baggage of the influence peddling scheme and his poor health make him unlikely to run...but all that influence peddling baggage is Obama baggage. And Biden seems pretty happy controlling the DOJ and keeping his son clean while attacking political enemies. I'd assume he's also probably still on the take.
But I bet Joe and Hunter know enough to ruin the Obama legacy, including Michelle's chances of running if she ever wanted to. So throwing him under the bus too hard might not work out.
On the other hand, people are finally waking up and realizing just how corrupt the Biden family really is...they are trash humans. Hanging on to him could mean a Trump win and that is unacceptable to the Deep State because Trump now knows where the bones are buried. You'd think he would clean house quickly after he was sworn in.
I agree with the above. It has become a feature of running a country that when you leave office, you are likely to be prosecuted, so nobody wants to leave.

If you view this as a hostage negotiation, then it makes complete sense why he is still President*. It's obvious he should not be there. It's obvious he puts all the plans the dems have in peril.
