How long does Ron DeSantis stay in 2nd place to Trump in primary polling? Will they pull the plug on him before he announces?

Curious how long DeSantis can remain in 2nd place to Trump now that Trump has fully exiled him to the establishment lane. He appears to have peaked back in February at about 36% and is falling since then. I guess if they start using that huge PAC war chest if he announces it might keep him there but way down. Another likely scenario is establishment voting Reps see he cant draw the base from Trump and decide to back someone like Haley due to DeSantis waffling comments on Ukraine etc.
 
If I could wave my magic wand, DeSantis would declare that he wasn't running and would focus on his job as Florida's governor for the rest of his term.

Then, I would wave my wand again and a viable, responsible, adult republican (or conservative independent) would step into the race.

I don't think it's an issue that DeSantis isn't saying anything. Now if Trump is arrested and he still says nothing, then it's an unforced error for sure.

Having said that, I think DeSantis could be hammering on Hiden on this, and the larger democratic party, how they are trying to target their political opponents etc.

I think he could do this in a way that doesn't directly support Trump, but does communicate the message that the dems are corrupt. I think that would score him points with the republican base, without giving too much of a boost to Trump.

I don't think this is a dumb play by DeSantis, but it's not a brilliant one either. His MO seems to be stay on the sidelines as much as possible when it comes to Trump.

Once again you are making excuses for someone who is clearly 100% team establishment. Its also a dumb move politically just like when he waited and then made that weak statement on the Trump raid. The guy is literally wishing for the uni-party to take Trump out for him.

How am I making excuses? I've already said IF Trump is arrested and IF DeSantis says nothing, THEN he made a mistake.

What if Trump isn't arrested? Then you look like a complete DA starting this thread slamming DeSantis for not commenting on something that never happened.

It has already been happening in the more legit ones. Only the bought and paid for specials look alright for him now. My guess is in 2 weeks or so Trump will have him back to 20% nationally with hardly any base vote. I think Baris said on his show that he is defintely dropping since Trump upped his attacks on him.

I saw a direct correlation to Trump attacks to DeSantis polling. Seems like the voters didn't really know who he was/is. Trump camp played that well.

lol...Only someone blind couldnt see DeSantis is in bed with the establishment. They literally have 100 million in PAC money waiting for him (from purposely overfunding his Governor race) if they dont pull the plug on him for his campaign setup people being the most incompetent team in history so far. All this was planned out but the idiots have egos so big they thought they could get away with having Jeb Bush etc. pushing him on a Fox News special and that crook Chip Roy endorsing him. Sorry to break it to you but Trump is taking this clown DeSantis down easily and Fox News, donor billionaires, Soros prosecutors and team Jeb - Paul Ryan arent going to be able to save him. DeSanctimonious deserves it after stabbing the guy who saved him in the 2018 primary in the back.

Yep I am one of those "deplorables" the establishment Reps hate because they are pissed we are taking the party away from them. Yeah. And I am probably not a "traditional conservative". I am very much and America First nationalist type. Im a Floridian and have been very impressd with the Gov. The reason I am RDS over DJT is because I think RDS has been very effective at turning the rhetoric into actual governance. I think Trump has a real problem in the personnel dept. He always seems to find the most disloyal lousy people. His cabinet was a joke. I am very sympathetic to the Trump movement, and just think RDS can do it better.

Like Bolton he deals with who he has to - DeSantis was the better option over Putnam. Trump claimed Bolton was good for making countries think you might actually do something. Bolton probably didnt like how Trump constrained him.
