Took a 4 win team to a 10 win team and win a NY6 bowl game and likely have about a top 8 national ranking.

How can anybody possibly do better than that?

More than one organization names a Natl. CoY.
Nuttless Jelly-Belly-Kelly of the neutered lame was 'given' one of them...
And he deserves it just as much as his nuttless team deserved to be in the game with Clemp's-son.... CU/Dabo 30 - 3 NL/Kelly

Kentucky is probably the biggest surprise pre-bowl game. We had a big turnaround but were 3rd in our own division using the tiebreaker.

We had a real big turnaround but I think when you have quite a bit of NFL talent on a roster it takes some clear accomplishment (or close to pulling it off) for them to give you national coach of the year usually. In many years 3 loss teams won't get New Years 6 games usually. There has been a few teams go from not winning a game hardly to pretty good record the next season. He did a great job but I see why they didn't name him SEC or National coach of the year with how it works usually.

Dan Mullen became the 1st UF head coach in history to win 10 games and a bowl game in his inaugural season. He's just the 3rd coach ever to win 10 games in his first season at a Power-5 school after inheriting a team that won fewer than 5 games the year prior.

W - Dan/UF 41 - 15 Meatchickens (-26)
* Mich had the #1 Defense in the nation vs their schedule.
"A lot of guys stepped up," junior CB/Nic Chauncey Gardner-Johnson said. "We already knew what was expected from us. A lot of people thought they were just going to come out, punch us in the mouth, push us around because they're bigger than us. We showed a lot of heart and a lot of fight and treated it like a regular week. Definitely came out there and won the game on both sides of the ball."

Gator Rushing - 40 for 257 yds, 6.4 ypc - Against a defense that entered the day yielding just 116.6 yards per game. Those 257 yards were the 2nd most ever by UF in a bowl game. The Gators rolled up 427 total yards against the No. 1 ranked defense in the country.

~ Conversely, Michigan rushed for just 77 yards on 30 attempts, an average of 2.6 per carry. And Florida sacked the meatchicken QB Shea Patterson 5 times!
=====

L - Chokers 34 - 45 Alabama (+11)
* The Chokers had the #1 Offense in the nation vs their schedule.
It was UA 28 - 0 OK in the 1st quarter, before the tide took a nap for the rest of the game....

So 2 SEC teams just kicked their butts to show them the difference...

That is a pretty darn good reason right there.

And Brian Kelly was the most deserving?

Huh?? Really? Michigan was the best teams on their schedule. Yes it was that bad.

If you are not going to consider Michigan decent even with their NFL guys playing you could call a lot of schedule's weak. They played like 5 top 25 teams this season at the time they played them anyway. And like us its not their fault FSU was trash this season.

Hmmm didn’t I say Michigan was the best team in their schedule? Why does it count when they played them? At the end of the year they played 2 top 25 teams on their entire schedule. (Cuse & Michigan). Not it isn’t their fault but FSU was trash so it is what it is.

Yeah but you also used the qualifier of having a talented team, so Kelly didn't have a talented team and Mullen did?

Once again, you just can't stand to praise Mullen for some reason.

10-3...what was your prediction? Something like 6-7 wins?

If we hadn't got handled by Missouri I think he wins it hands down. That will be held against him, oh well. I think we know he is going to be getting more relevant accolades if he continues on the path he created this year.

Well, Mullen didn't win SEC coach of the year, that went to Stoops, just like I said it would.

Tough to see him winning national coach if he doesn't win conference coach.

While that's fair, the fact that Kelly won it is ridiculous.

He's been there for nearly a decade, has built a good team, but because it's Notre Dame and they went undefeated, he becomes a media darling and is coach of the year.

Well, after Mullen takes us to the National Title next year, he will win it, and they didn't want to give it to the same guy two years in a row.

Come on Fever...this has been an amazing first season...Mullen can really coach. He has a great staff...the energy is great again... doesn't mean we might take a step back next year and actual wins but everybody knows Mullen coach. Guys been impressive all year. The one thing I love about Mullen the most is that the guy expects to win national titles. He doesn't hold back and give a bunch of coach talk....guy expects to win and demands execution. That's the standard. I love our coach....guy is money. Great job coach and staff!

I don’t get Fever. Most, if not all, of us had people we preferred. But when the craziness and dust settled and we watched the guy early on we opened up. Then when people saw Franks not giving games away and the team play hard and well they realized the fit was good. Meanwhile, Fever pines for 8-6 Mike Norvell.

The bottom line is no matter who we wanted we can put on our big boy pants and see that Strickland got it right for the short term and long term. Dan was the right hire, he learned a ton at MSU.

Ole fevered-brains said 5-7 wins.
The iG said 9-11 wins.
:cool::p:D

I thought they would win vs UK & Mizz. 0-2
I thought they might lose to LSU & UGly. 1-1
I thought that FSUcks and the Bowl would be toss-up wins. 2-0

Going 10-3 with a Bowl whoop-azz on the meatchickens is an EXCELLENT 1st season imo.

PS
The feavered-brain is a dumb-azz, just as most everyone suspected... o_O

Meh. It's kind of like the Oscars to me anymore. Insiders giving each other awards.

Notre Dame has that Catholic backing and we all know how much the pope loves American football:D
