I do not think he has the authority to write off anything...does this not have to be put through congress?
I thought all funding/budgetary issues were initiated in the house and ratified by the Senate.
Even AOC is calling this out as a BS move.
My guess is now that he's seeing that even the left hates it, they will drop the matter and claim they tried to do it but the republicans blocked 'critical debt relief our students needed'.
