The mayor of NYC wants to take illegals that are currently being housed for free in luxury hotels and move them out of those hotels and INTO PRIVATE RESIDENCES.

So dems here's a question: Will you still cling to your politics when your next door neighbor agrees to house 4 illegals who are all 25 year old males and who have already been staring intently at your two daughters when they moved in?

@Uniformed_ReRe this is why National Divorce is a real possibility. Because the left keeps floating ideas like this that are absolutely insane to real Americans, and the dems don't say anything.

When you don't say anything, you make it clear to the rest of us that we are living in a completely different world than you are, and we need to just move on.

So don't be surprised if we do.

He can say whatever the eff he wants, assuming that's what he meant since I'd bet my left nut you didn't read the article.

If the government can't quarter soldiers in my house they can't force illegals on me. If you'd ever read the constitution you'd know that.

Listen to what he said.

He mentioned the $4.3B they're spending to put illegals up in luxury hotels. He said they'd shift that from "lining the pockets of corporations" and "putting that money into the pockets of our citizens and houses of worship".

Sounds like he's planning to pay private residents to house illegals.

I'm sure they'll be no cheating or fraud with that system.

First off, read what Ghost wrote.

Second of all, Yankees are ate up with stupid and if they want to spend their money on giving the homeless makeovers I really don't care.

I cared about New York exactly once, and that was on 9/11.

I wasn't replying to him, I was replying to your post. Ghost didn't infer it was forced.

I think you get around any Constitutional infringement if it's voluntary and people are being compensated.

But few people will really do it and most of those who "do" will cheat/lie and get paid while the immigrant they're "housing" sleeps on the street. Libs are terrible at putting their money where their mouth is. I don't know a single one who sends extra taxes to the IRS.

if they're not forcing them I care even less. It's not any different than your neighbors renting out rooms to college kids or tourists minus immigration status on one of those websites.

Although I thought I read they were cracking down on Airbnb in New York, which would make this situation ten times funnier and 100 times more hypocritical.

"No, you can't rent your spare room out to anyone but illegal aliens."

No, but I think it will head that way eventually.

Sadly, the left has no issue with shitting on the Constitution. Just ask the J6 defendants that have been sitting in a jail cell for 2 and a half years waiting for their Constitutional right to a speedy trial.

I can see a crafty developer, buy a run down building for cheap, say in the bronx or queens, and retro fitting it into as many 1 bedroom "apartments" as they can, just so the Government pays them for housing illegals, for a nice profit.

This is the definition of insanity. When you start taking private property, that is the definition of socialism or....communism. All driven from open borders.

Now - here is the counter: why in the WORLD are we talking about abortion, and LOSING ELECTIONS OVER IT when THIS is going on.

The new "Section 8 Wetback" program? This reminds me of a Seinfeld episode. 😂

Are you sure about that? bill clinton abused posse comitatus by executive order (power he as President did not legally possess) and declared use of the US military as a war on "terrorism and drugs" to attack Waco.

The government mandated vaccines. The government, and state and local government can do a LOT of things in between now and when the Supreme Court intervened.

Even if they did, Democrats own the Presidency and the FBI, etc. How would that stand-off go?

Posse Comitatus has been pretty much moot for over a century. But that applies to using troops in lieu of law enforcement. But using SOAR ISR for Waco is an excellent example of things you can't use the military for.

It shouldn't be in force for protecting our southern border at all though. That's what the military is for. We are being invaded by hostile forces whether or not the woke will admit it or not. General Longstreet would have trenches dug and slaughtered the invaders without loss of a man.

actually, the definition was March of 2020, that was what communism looks like.

Constitution says many things libs refuse to follow. It also does not grant power to the Department of Just Us.

How TF are they going to monitor and track fraud?

Roe was overturned in June 2022.

All that was settled is that it returned to the states.
Exactly. So just move on and let the states handle it. Buy a pack of condoms till they do.

Abortion wasn't even a Top 15 issue for voters before Roe v Wade and Casey v PP was overturned. It may not be Top 25 now. Makes zero sense to even mention the issue and voters don't care.

I believe he's saying that it wasn't an issue til Pubs made it an issue.

I don't believe that's factually correct, you can hardly blame SCOTUS for doing their job. Those trigger laws were on the books for years, just as R v W was around for years. Send and abortion rights folks had what 50 years to write and pass a federal law. But they didn't, they chose to hang their hat on a dubious ruling based on zero case law or precedent. And the court that made the ruling told them it was weak at the time.
