He’s a expected to arrive in Gainesville at around 11-11:30am I believe. I’m sure it will be somewhere online to watch. I thought I saw that UF would broadcast it on YouTube. I’m sure more info will come out throughout the day. I’m expecting he will have some staff folks with him (secondary staff, etc).
I am just excited to see the staff he announces, recruits he tries to flip and what he grabs from the portal. Going to be a interesting week or so ahead

is the thought still that he will retain CRob and Brewster? I know in most cases they keep 2 hold overs
That is who I would keep. We will see what he does. It may be hard to keep CRob. He was actually a wanted guy last year as Michigan went after him hard.

I have been moving all day so didn’t get a chance to listen yet (I will later) but I have heard that he said he will have 2 oline coaches. I do love the sound of that.
2 good ones to bring with him. On the flip side, we hired hired Randy Shannon today as our LB coach. Looks like both programs are making big moves...... New HC is always exciting times.

It's a very Saban like move by Norvell right... follow me here, We took the bruised and battered former HC in as an analyst, tended to his needs, gave him a position coach job this yr, a school like Texas should be calling soon (think Sarkisian)....
Wasn’t Shannon already at FSU on the support staff? FWIW Shannon is terrible. He was terrible at UCF and was terrible at UF. I guess he isn’t your DC so that is good though.
7.5 mill is pretty good. Jus to compare ours is 6 million and that is pretty high. Not sure our support staff but It is less than 5 that's for sure. Good to see UF is willing to do what it takes
If this is the staff pool we should have some pretty damn good hires. I am good with 2 ULL guys for continuity (though he does at least need a co-DC) but it should not be used for huge raises for his ULL staff.
We saw how that worked for Frost, and before I get hammered for this, to a man this entire board was relieved we passed on Frost when we learned he took his whole staff
I liked Frost a lot but yes that was a huge mistake that he took his entire UCF staff with him to Nebraska. I’m almost 100% positive that is not happening here. I like Toney and Juluke. Toney is an up and comer on the rise in the coaching ranks and I believe only 31 yrs old. But I’m going to assume Toney won’t be the sole DC.
I am fine with him as a co-DC, not an issue at all. But I think a little experience would help. Even better if its SEC experience.
With that budget we should be able to grab several high profile coaches.
And we just canned a coach for overboard lotalty, so lets not go that route again.

Sounding like he may not keep anybody now. That is the rumor anyways that he wants to blow it up and a complete overhaul/rebuild.
I have no issue with that.
however he has 7.5 mill for 9 on-field coaches, if he brings more than 3 ULL guys, thats on Stricklin for not having restrictions for that.
Because isn’t Stricklin the one who thought Frost wanted to bring too many UCF staff?
Frost wanted to bring his entire UCF staff with him. I was told that was a big no from us. Nebraska let him do it. I agree that he shouldn’t hire a bunch of ULL coaches. I don’t think he is going to do that but we will see.
And Nebraska his keeping him another year because they finally realized that that was an idiotic idea and are forcing him to overhaul the staff.
When I moved jobs this summer, I was asked to suggest 3 people I could bring with me to run a new market.
I could name three people but there was only one I trusted and thought could do the job the way I knew it needed to be done.
I was correct.
Could I have poached several other people? Sure. And they'd fill their rolls well. But I wanted the best who could move up and was also ready for that next step
Yep I still think Frost can be successful at the P5 level. That was dumb for sure. Let’s see if he can get it right the 2nd time.
