Apparently, Chad Grier told reporters that follow Gator football that Will wanted to stay. I am pretty sure it was not Will's choice.
No, no, no, no....have you not been paying attention to the all truth telling noles? They are experts in this area....Apparently, Chad Grier told reporters that follow Gator football that Will wanted to stay. I am pretty sure it was not Will's choice.
Thought so as well. Unless it was known, but for some reason the coach felt he did not want to be forthcoming at the time.
Another reporter (Hollywood Bob) is saying that Grier and his dad had a meeting with Mac.
Grier's dad wanted Mac to say that Grier would be the starter Game 7, and Mac wouldn't guarantee it. Dad said, "fine, we're out."
FTR, calling Bob a reporter is being kind.
Ohhhh, man, you got me with that one. Who helped you write that?
McElwain on Del Rio:
“He’s been having some really good practices out there. I think you guys were probably updated even through kind of the summer when he came here. He was a little bit of a spark plug out there, a guy who kind of knows how to go about it. So he’ll be a guy obviously heavily in the mix as we move forward. We’re sure excited he’s here.”
The problem is that Harris got worse as the season progressed. There are two schools of thought as to why. One is that his repertoire is very limited, and once DCs figured him out, defending him was easy. The second is that he is one of those Driskel like guys. The more the pressure, the worse they perform.Does anyone feel the experience Treon has had will benefit him this off season? Can Coach M capitalize on that experience and use it to develop Harris into a serviceable, if not excellent, starter for '16?
McElwain, Dixon and Robinson all met and agreed he should go pro. And he was excited by it.So today during his press conference, McElwain says Demarcus Robinson is going pro.
THEN
Several hours later
Demarcus Robinson tweets he didn't tell anyone that.
This is going to be interesting.
McElwain, Dixon and Robinson all met and agreed he should go pro. And he was excited by it.
So either he's a goof or... wait, no, that's it. That's the one.
Whatever buddy. The guy I know has been pretty reliable. You put an awful lot of faith on "reporters" who are often of victim of a "canary trap." They know what the UAA wants them to know and nothing else.
Demarcus Robinson and the coaches all knew this guy was going pro before the season started. He continually gets suspended and then ever since the Bama game he is nowhere to be found. He hasn't been with the team at all and has basically removed himself from the team. He's already told the coaches he was going pro. He's just upset that he didn't get to make a big deal about it and draw attention to his "big" announcement. It's kind of funny.
Too guys that I'd not be sorry to see leave. One is DeRob and the other is a duplicitous mouthpiece.
1. Everybody with a functioning brain thought that DeRob was gone after 2015. (multiple reasons)
2. Everybody that's a Gator fan is not sorry that he's (4x suspended) apparently going Pro.
3. IMO - Only the twits and/or dweebs are, or would be, making a big deal outta it....
In 2015 DeRob was targeted 75 times but only had 47 receptions, only 5 of his catches went for 20+ yds. He barely broke 500 receiving yards and he only scored 2 TD's and he had 1 fumble. A freakin' true Fr vastly out played him. IMO, as a Pro, someone is going to be taking a big risk when drafting him, but that's me. So, I don't see him as any great loss for the Gator's 2016 team, and I'm rather glad that he's gone....
Careful what you wish for: DR averaged more yds per game than any UF receiver, and avg. 4.7 receps/game to AC 2.5. Also losing DR, KT, and Jake M is nearly 1/2 of all receptions. Callaway was electric but will probably garner more coverage without the leading receiver out there.
You don't understand, the guys on the bench are always better, its fan logic. Don't get me wrong, I thought Robinson was an immature clown. But to act like he won't be missed on the field, even a little bit, is just ignorant. He's the most talented receiver we have. Calloway is a better player, but not as talented. The good news is that receivers aren't hard to find in this state and good ones play early, so he CAN be replaced. Will he be replaced is another question.

I agree he has more talent than any other wr on the roster. That said, he vastly under-performed his talent. He often gave up on routes, consistently ran sloppy routes, occasionaly short armed the ball, carried the ball after a catch like a loaf of bread and was an undisciplined mess at practice. And for all those bad habits, he still we the leading wr on the roster, at least by some measures. You don't understand, the guys on the bench are always better, its fan logic. I can't say who the source is due to their involvement with the team, so take this or leave it.
Grier's 'harmless' OTC supplement from GNC was an illegal (for the NCAA) supplement used to mask cocaine in drug tests. He lied to Mac and the team staff, so Mac's press conference where he defended him was done before the staff found out the truth. Coach is pissed off, naturally, and now the decision to transfer is a mutual one.

You said it exactly right that Callaway is the best football player, comparing the two.
You have no faith in Ahmed Fulwood? No doubt. The fact that he had all those issues, missed multiple games, and was still our second leading receiver says a lot about what isn't on the roster now. We can replace him, but my bet is it will have to come from another freshman. Not really seeing it with some of the other dudes.

BTW, TTFWIW but this is the consistent rumor I have heard from several sources, including a well regarded reporter. Not named Hollywood Bob. (Also, I hesitate to post a rumor from a guy with this screen name. I do not know him and given his name, do not want to know him) And another player, who I will not name as he is still part of the team, was supposedly Grier's source of the drug.
meH.Hope you have a good lawyer. Posting this sort of thing is not wise.
meH.
I claim no authorship or inside knowledge for the rumor. I can find several threads on several sites that contend the same thing.
IOW, the rumor is public information.
You have no faith in Ahmed Fulwood?![]()
