Grandfather's death pushes Demarkcus Bowman to Enter Transfer Portal; Clemson Pulls his Financial Aid

Now, back to the Clemson RB thread subject. Yet another thread hijacked by the buttsniffers begging for some validation on the Gator board.

==========

RB Recruiting differences.

1. I want to play right away,,, and be a 1,200+ yard ball-hog RB.

2. I want to get a top quality degree, play a lot in a rotation that keeps me fresh, and not be burned out in 3-4 years so that I will have a decent shot at an NFL career before I move on to the (degree) rest of my lift.

If I was a Gator recruiter, I might offer a guy in the 1. category, but I'd spend my time on the guys in the 2. category that WANT to be a lifetime part of the Gator Nation.

Which one had the most recruiting stars would be irrelevant to me.

The 2nd part of RB recruiting:

1.
Great YPC average in HS, with lots of yards and TD's.

2. All around player that can run with power and speed, ran block, pass block, and catch the ball coming out of the backfield. Knowing when and how to do any of those things as needed to make the team successful.

If I was a Gator recruiter, I might offer a guy in the 1. category, but I'd spend my time on the guys in the 2. category that WANT to be a lifetime part of the Gator Nation.

Just me, but I'd rather get a 3-4 star that fits Cat-2 in both, than a 5 star 'prim-a-dona' that's a Cat-1 in both.
That's good that you're okay with no 5 stars, because it's been a minute. :)

Is that your own opinion? Please explain in detail for us, the difference in your OL and UF's for 2019. Otherwise, you're just another leghumper barkin' outta your butt. o_O

Yeah, yeah, heah. nuttlicker fans make a living on their early days wins (back in your great-granddaddy's era), back when UF was still erecting the buildings and paving the streets for the Model-T's. UF only had a few hundred students total, but since 1950, UF has the W/L advantage, (in my own lifetime) :p

But hey, I guess that has-been's need to hang on to whatever they can.
Like UGly had a NC before late comer UF, but zero since then, while UF has had 3 NC's in just the last 22 years.

Florida must replace four veteran starters from a unit that was actually quite good in 2018. There's minimal experience among the returning players, though the starting unit does feature some veteran players.

It comes down to trench play, just like where we are with experience and two guys projected to be first round NFL, than where the gators stand is all. https://247sports.com/college/flori...eason-rides-on-emergence-of-O-line-131775461/

[QUOTE="'can't finish' leghumper. :cool:"

Gotta be in it to win it. When's the last time y'all played in a champ/playoff game and won? I'll wait.

Bigger interest in which team wins the game, not most rush yardage. Your OL is horrid, and ours is far superior. Our DL, specifically our Freshman Smith from IMG will blow up FF all game. Enjoy.

Our OL is horrid? Get a clue. We lost a second rounder and a couple of undrafted free agents. Our line will be MORE talented this year.

One guy coming back would have been a starter but was injured. As I said, we lost a second rounder and a couple undrafted free agents. That's a level of talent it's not too hard to replace.

Guys are gone, other guys are still here, and FNG guys are on the way. Repeat....
Are you new? o_O -- And we just had 3 stars leave early and drafted and 5 star Sr's go undrafted,,,, so much for projections....

Projections are never wrong. Is that really your claim?
And the Gator OL is left with guys that have never seen a football field???

Losing the Bowman dude sounds like it sucks...

But it’s early May...

By the way, anybody seen Gator Fever lately?

Yeah, cause fev told us last year that 'quality' recruiting ended in Aug, and it's only May...

Pretty sure he's raging about the, now #6 class.

We book those 2 Oak Leaf kids in the next week/two and we'll bump back up to #4 overall. To me this next battle is a must win to keep in line with a Top 5 class.

I'm looking forward to another top quality Mullen & staff class.
Screw the star givers opinions, they are a filp of a coin imo.

Well I can tell you it was more recently than 40 years ago."

Florida wins an SEC title and you'll say it doesnt matter? You win a playoff game and you'll say it doesn't matter? So it's Natty or Die? Progress seems to matter here with all the crowing about being equally ranked with as eoy. And a 10 win season, y'all proud?

Will this roster still be in effect in the near future? Asking for a friend.

I thought the only thing bet was my avatar. I didn't ask for anything in return since it's your home board. Am I wrong... or do I get to pick your avatar? :)

I wasn’t aware of any specific rules regarding the situation

So did Richt, and you ran him off to get Kirby. LOL"

LOL - slap the knee much do you?

But then Kirbs followed that up w/ a whoppin of Mullen, and is running circles around the Gators in recruiting. Mullen can't recruit, and he's your Richt. Actually hes not even Richt, at least Richt won SEC titles, Mullen - 11 years HC in SEC and can't even get in the SECCG.

What truly bothers the lizards today is that you really are afraid you have a RIcht on your hands. 10-11 wins, maybe an SEC appearance, but will never win it all. Just can't recruit at a champ level.

Poor journalism, didn't even mention we stole the QB from Jax that you wanted.

It’s hilarious to watch Dawg fans continuously diss Richt to blow their new toy. Richt is the winningest coach in your history. So what does that say about your shit program? But nobody ever accused y’all of being smart.

Just goes to show you had mediocre their program is. All these SEC schools have won national titles more recently than them. UF, Bama, Tennessee, LSU & Auburn. Heck even GT has won a national title more recently.

BTW, how much did you have to pay to buy a friend, asking for myself...
Part 2: Does it cost more or less than the recruits yawl buy?

Most sources list their rivals as Clemson, GT, Bama, UF, Auburn, Tennessee, and South Carolina. With the exception of South Carolina all of their rivals have won a national title since UGA's last one. Another team that borders their state and they battle H2H for recruits is FSU. Another team that has won a title(s) since UGA's last one.

The number may be more but off the top of my head UGA's rivals have combined for 16 titles since UGa won their last one. Add in 3 more for FSU.

Who's next, UGA or UF? Vegas?

Neither one will win it all until Dabo or Saban are gone. Some Big 10 team will slip in one or two before UGa or UF.

Just for fun with nothing at all to lose on a W-a-G prediction... o_O

Anthony Richardson leads the team to the next NC at UF in his Soph 2021 season. :D

Bowman has entered the transfer portal.

Tennessee,

Saw that on 2 other sites -

"A true freshman, Bowman has been involved in Clemson's first two games of the season. He has recorded 9 carries for 32 yards rushing, but he has played third fiddle to returning veteran Travis Etienne and senior Darien Rencher."

Florida currently has five running backs on the roster, with four of those five eligible to jump to the NFL at any point following the 2020 season.

Open lines of communication between Bowman & Gators as several of his former class mates from Lakeland now at UF.

Two 5* RBs in our backfield would be a positive for the running game.

Bowman entering transfer portal this quickly, makes me think that there are bigger issues than just PT for him.

"According to 247Sports' Chris Hummer, Clemson has already canceled Bowman's financial aid, meaning he will not be able to return to the school even if he wanted to after exploring his options in the transfer portal.
