Of course they do! When you bring in low-skilled workers who are willing to work for LESS, obviously the current LEGAL low-skilled workers will suffer.

That's why Trump wants a vetting system in place to bring in HIGHLY-SKILLED workers who WANT to be AMERICANS.

What happens when you add HIGHLY SKILLED workers to a business? The business functions more effectively and efficiently. They make more money, they can pay their workers more money, the owners and shareholders get more money.

Everyone wins. So of course the dems are violently against it. Because American success is bad for the democratic party.

Bringing in high skilled workers is suspect also. Often it too is used to depress the wages of Americans. Now IMNSHO if a business truly cant find or train and American to do a specific job then they should be allowed to bring in a worker. BUT the government should require the H1B visa holder to be paid a min of 10% more than the average wage for a similar job in that part of the country. This would ensure the need is genuine and also increase the wages of all involved including other Americans.

I think it was Disney or some bank a few years ago that used the program to bring in people to replace Americans at half the cost in wages and claimed the American workers were not skilled enough. Yet they required the American workers to train their replacements in order to receive their severance and unemployment benefits.
