Big pick-up. Florida has landed a commitment from Rivals250 offensive tackle Richard Gouraige.

To be honest even though the season has not gone well and the coaching looks shaky at best the opppsite is what I'm hearing as far as recruiting goes.

Darn, this is likely to ruin Michi-trolls next rant on how terrible Mc-staffs recruiting was-is-will always be...

Instead of the class disintegrating like clueless Michi-troll predicted, Mc just added another 4 star (10 total per 247) to the now #6 ranked class (18), with the #10 OT, (106/250). --- :p

PS
That's the 2nd UA-AA OL'man, with #6 OG Dunlap.

==============

2018 Recruiting Classes per 247 (10-21-17)

6. UF (#1 in SEC)
7. UGly
8. TN
14. aTm
15. LSU
16. MsSt
19. AU
22. UK
24. UA - NC Runner-up
>> 9 of 14 SEC teams are Top 25's, 3 are Top 10's.

9. FSU
10. ND
11. OK
12. UCLA
13. Mich
17 NC - Clem
21. USCw
23. VaTech
25. Wash

Of course it's still early, so things will likely change some before NSD, it always does.

And rankings don’t mean anything, as you’ve stated many times.

Well...except for your ratings of players. Those count.

I see that I have another ignored moron circle jerker begging for some attention. Too bad,,, go back to your jerking, all by yourself...

just pointing out how stupid and pedophilic homosexual you are.

You give all the attention any little boy could possibly need granny.

It is entirely possible that Mac underachieved in his first couple recruiting classes and has a potential elite recruiting class on deck. Those things aren't mutually exclusive. The internet tends to want everything to fit into a perfect pattern but this incoming class is changing the narrative, for me at least.

lol btw - we "should" want elite classes even if we think Mac isn't the guy.

His most recent class wasn't that bad but his 2 before that weren't UF standards. I hope he can bring in a top 10 class.

I dislike defending the guy but his year 1 class was about on par with all past hires (no idea what SOS's year 1 class ranked) even Meyer's and Zook's (which led to Meyer's first NC) but his year two class is what got him.

I agree - more thinking of the entirety of his recruting prior to what 2018 is looking like. Really don't want to rehash it all at this point. People have their own opinions.

Well it was the lowest ranked first class out of all those coaches at # 23 but Zook's was basically about the same the first season. Muschamp had a # 12 class his first year and Meyer had a # 15 class his first year. The big difference like you allude to is those other three coaches had elite 2nd year classes while Mac didn't. From what I remember people considered Spurrier's 1st class to be pretty decent at the time so I would think it would have been around a top 10 level class if they had rankings then.

Yeah both had better first year rankings but best I remember both signed under 20 players and had room to sign more. I was impressed that Mc pulled off Jefferson, Ivey, Scarlett, and Callaway (although two are now basically gone) and such with such short time. He never built off that and didn't build off his East Title he loves to brag about.

Curious to see how 2017 ends up in the next few years. I think losing Scarlett may be a blessing in disguise with how its preparing Davis for the future now and he appears to have way more upside. It does suck we don't seem to have much at WR now except Cleveland.

Fev, Davis is already a better RB as a tFr, than Scarlett is as a Jr. JMOHO of course. There is no question on Davis being the better student/athlete and citizen.
