I doubt Corral wants to take the hits you would take under Mullen and I know he would adjust a little but he would be crazy to come here imo. I hope he still does however.
Yep that guy who got pancaked multiple times per game running that system. A normal QB wouldn't have lasted the season built like him but he was impervious to injury it seemed.

No, not worse than Vandy or KY. But in the tier above them. One reason it is easy to view KY below them is because of what he did there. Elevated them to second tier...solidly. Problem is ceiling is that, occasional win over LSU or Auburn notwithstanding.
That's exactly how I feel...Mullen could do very well at Florida. The biggest question is this...can he win us a title? There is an argument that he could. He runs a great offense, nearly all of his QB's are good and he knows the SEC.. been recruiting it for 12+ years now. Wish Frost was open though.
This is a coach Mac 2.0 hiring. A guy who has a single 10 win season with no big bowl wins, division or conference titles. The only thing he assures you is 5 losses a season. Yippee.
When you say great offense, you do realize his average offense has ranked 48th. That hardly qualifies as great. Mediocre, average, those descriptions are more accurate. This hire is like when Mac hired his buddy Nuss. It's a friend hire, plain and simple.
Alex Smith, Tebow, Prescott, Fitzgerald... they all can play...and there are others...if we get Mullen it's a clear upgrade when it comes to offense.
Are you shittin? Have you watched his video? He's the next Manziel. That being said, Mullin will be a good interim coach, hopefully it's a year to year contract.
Mullen would have beat Ole Miss if he didnt have his QB go down either. He is coaching the worst gig in the SEC and one of the worst P5 schools. He has done better than any other coach has done there (Sherril was there 3 more years and won only 6 more games, despite having much more experience as a HC).
I think he is the most logical hire for us. We will compete for SEC titles with him. We will have excellent QB play. He can recruit.
Obviously not a home run hire like we felt with Kelly or Frost, but really the best option.
Also, agreed that there is something up with Norvell. You dont have an offense that scores that much, only lose one game, and not get a better job when there are so many job openings this year.

You do realize Corral is and always has been focused on an NFL career. One could argue Mullen can sell that as well as anyone in the country.
You may proven to be right but Mullen has been in the SEC west...at Mississippi State...since he's been there he's been paying Bama, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss and Texas AM have both had a few seasons being very good... plus too. I don't like Mullen but he's done very well and Miss St has never been any good up into he got there...not at least in the past 25+ years.

lol Yep its really childish to bring a coach to UF that has only proven he can beat the Ole Miss and Kentuckys of the world consistently. On paper this is probably worse than the Mac hire.

I've been to Starke-vegas before, seriously thought it was a high school field. Who the hell wants to play there? Hopefully Mullen won't make me quit watching CFB. Mullen is walking into the gold mine others have turned their noses up at. Even Bear Bryant knew. "Florida, the Sleeping Giant".
Mullen knows the Gator culture and has won rings at Florida. He made a doormat program a consistent winner in Starkeville and is a proven SEC commodity. Less risky hire than Kelly or Frost, IMO, and maybe in the long run a better one. I say give the guy the benefit of the doubt and stay behind the program.
49, 44,31, 8......these are Miss State's total offense rankings the last 4 years. maybe Chip or Frost could have been better hires but Mullen has been doing this against SEC defenses for a while. He's at least proven that he can coach and develop QBs. I think we will be fine.

As a head coach at Miss St, just average. 4 to 5 years he will be gone. Has he won any sec championships since he left UF?
Please tell me the last time Miss St won a conference championship.
