Predictably pathetic crowd for this one. Hope we handle business. We have a chance to run off 5 to 7 in a row to start league play.

Not so bad on the crowd. Filled in late. Gators look good early up 8 with about 4 missed layups.

Walker reminds me a lot of pat young early on. Ton of athletic talent but he plays too quick and can barely handle the ball sometimes.

Starting to look better the last few games - maybe this team can recover in time to make the tourney. If they win at Georgia in a few days it might be possible as that will be a good sign we end up with a good SEC record.

Yeah they are playing great. I think auburn is not very good. It will be impressive though if they keep executing to get good shots and keep defending even if they're winning big. Shouldn't be too hard to keep them focused. Just remind them of all the double digit leads they've blown.

I'm sure Foley gave them tickets because Muschamp is a nice guy.

@APMarkLong: Former Gators coach Will Muschamp's boys are at O'Dome and wearing Auburn apparel

Four players in double figures. Hill had a great game. 12 points with 7 assists. Billy is now 6-8 against Bruce

I only got to see the last 5 minutes of the game, I should have recorded it. I need a replay

can someone tell me what happened

I just watched passively switching between channels but we played good defense for the most part and started off good on offense and weren't too bad most of the game. We did go cold for a few minutes before the end and let them close the deficit some but we were always in control. Hill was hitting some shots finally.

Slowly working our way up on RPI as we are # 71 now. We project to end up with the 12th hardest schedule and to go 12-6 in conference which would put us right on the bubble with some SEC tourney wins. I think a KY win or a couple of wins over Arkansas and LSU would get us in at 12-6 if we do alright in the SEC tourney.

Gators owned them on defense. I don't think Auburn has too many guys who can score, but they got maybe a handful of good looks all night in the half court and broke the press a few times, but that was it. Gators ran effectively and everybody drove the ball, especially Kasey Hill, who was the best player on the court. Auburn is bad, but it was encouraging, because these guys defended and executed on offense the entire second half, even with a big lead, and even when they missed some shots and Auburn made a little run at them. Carter being healthy is huge, because he can get his own shot, and he's the only other knock down shooter on the team other than Frazier, although Finney Smith is looking more consistent from three and Horford can hit open shots.

I think they could end up almost as good defensively as last year's team. They are more athletic, and everybody wants to defend. I'd like to see more minutes for Walker and Murphy, particularly if the score is comfortable. Murphy is like a stronger, more athletic Kurtz. He can really drive it and rebound. Walker reminds me of Young. Once he quits worrying about offense and just focuses on being an athletic presence, particularly in the middle of the defense, he will be an asset.

Overall, I think this team will end up as capable of winning games in the tournament, if they can get there. They need to run off 6 or 7 in a row to start the league. Georgia on the road and LSU at home are big games.

SEC TV will probably replay it soon. Today perhaps.

We won. We dominated most of the game, with a coupla lapses. Hill had a fantastic game. DoeDoe got into early foul trouble in the first half and sat about 15 minutes or so. Frazier came off the bench, subbing for Chizzoa. Speaking of which, he is a very pleasant surprise. Walker continues to look lost. Carter is a scoring threat off the bench. Alex confirmed he is not as good as his brother.

With any luck, we may be able to top that list.

The next few games are all going to be very tough. We will see if the improvement over the last five is a mirage based on the quality of opponent, or if this team has really progressed.

Chiozza is solid. I don't think it's a coincidence we're winning games starting him and Hill. He's very composed and strong with the ball. He and Hill both guard the ball very tough.

I think Murphy can play, he's just 180 degrees opposite of his brother. He's stronger, a better rebounder and a driver, but he can't shoot. I think he can be a real positive for this team.

Walker is just frantic right now. How many times did he get his hands on a ball last night and fumble it out of bounds?

It's a little strange to me how difficult it is for Billy's freshman to transition to the college game. You look back at all the great recruits he's brought in, and it's pretty unusual for someone to make a big impact early. Off the top of my head, it's just Brett Nelson, Donnel Harvey, Miller, Horford, Calathes, Beal and Boynton. Pretty good list, but you look around the country and see freshman putting up numbers everywhere. Also, you think about all the guys who have transferred out and put up numbers like Bogans, Appleby, James White and Abukar. Either Billy's guys aren't quite as polished or else he puts a little more in their heads to figure out, which maybe makes them play a little less instinctively, but pays off in the long run (Chandler Parsons, Noah, David Lee, T. Green, Corey Brewer, Haslem, Young, Wilbekin, Prather).

Would we have the all time SEC winning streak? I think KY went undefeated only 1 year under Rupp and they lost to Ga Tech the next season who was SEC at the time I think.

Billy actually has an offensive scheme and lots of set plays that it takes a little longer for freshmen to play. Their is structure and a plan when we are on offense. The majority of college basketball teams don't have a real set offense or anything like that.

A healthy Eli Carter is a huge difference in how the team plays. Can he stay healthy?

Don't know about the all time winning streak. I suspect that UK had longer ones in Rupp's early years.

UK has also had several seasons where they went undefeated in the regular SEC season. They just never won 18 regular season games in one year, plus winning three in the SECC-T, for a total of 21 games on one year. Like Billy says, that record might be equaled, but it will never be broken and last years Florida team coached by Billy Donovan was the first to do it.

Cant find anything on the all time streak. I might ask them at Rupp Rafters as a lot of them live and die KY basketball.

It appears KY didn't lose an SEC game in the 45,46,47 and 48 seasons - not sure what their actual SEC win streak is around that time however.
