GATORS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!!!

Kentucky is still the best program in the SEC. That is fine. Their football and baseball programs are crap. UF on the other hand has national titles in those sports in this century.

Arkansas is the best at track in the SEC. UF has however won Indoor AND Outdoor, Men's AND Women's NCs in this century.

UF has been good at everything, not just one thing. Except for women's hoops, we can't figure that $hit out.

I reject this. Arkansas has more (10 to our 7), but they haven't won an overall team title since 2003. Meanwhile, we have won our 7 all since 2012 (2012, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2022, 2023, 2024). THAT is domination!

I think given what they had to overcome and how many great teams they had to beat along the way they are our greatest basketball team ever.. Back 2 backs had the greatest talent and dominance overall, but this one single year this team accomplished more in a different way.. This is one of the all time great Championship teams in college basketball history if you ask me. Winning the SEC Tournament and then a historic all 1 seed Final Four? How can you not argue this is one of the greatest college teams ever?
I certainly agree with this. This Gator team played in what many say was the toughest conference in a long time and certainly the best SEC ever.

The team has to come back game after game in the NCAA tournament and could have folded. But they never backed down and now they are immortal with a new banner hanging in the O' Dome.

That's fine. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. I love Gov. DeSantis. Over the entire game, the refs called a fair game and Florida benefitted by that. But to each his own. I know for a fact that the Gators are the national champs and the expert panel on CBS said we won the game at the foul line by adjusting better to the refs in the 2nd half than Houston did. 19 fouls on them, 11 on us. If the governor and others think that proves the refs favored them over us, I'll say OK, but it don't make sense to me. Facts don't lie.
What cost Houston a championship was the way the handled the last few minutes of the game. They turned the ball over their last four possessions. When the game was on the line they didn't get off a shot. The choke was as bad if not worse than Cooper Flagg's last collegiate shot.

Ball Game. GATORS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 2025

EDIT: Maybe the Gators extraordinary DEFENSE had something to do with the way Houston played in the final minutes.

sadgator does have a bit of empathy for Emanuel Sharp. Guy was a great player for his team, and it sucks that the focus of losing that game falls on his shoulders. He was obviously devastated, and even though it is awesome to win, you have to feel for a kid in that position.

Luckily, he has another year of eligibility and can return if he chooses.

IIRC UF brought back the two floors from the previous Nattys, one is the one they play on in the ODome and the other is their practice court.
They should totally get this one and put it in Alligator Alley for the intramural games!

I hope I can get a full night's sleep last night. I was so wound up last night I couldn't relax to try to go to sleep until around 2 am and then woke up every hour or so thinking about the game some more. What a ride this team took us on this year!
dude I was still jacked watching the replay and other videos reacting to the game at 3 AM so I just decided to go for a run to finally put myself down after that.. I realized when I woke up today how much of a 1000 pound boulder of stress released from this last month has caused me though for how bad I wanted it for this team.

what was the last team that did it that many times? Kentucky in 98?

Curious myself. I remember that KY team having the real big comeback against Duke but forgot they trailed like that in all those games.

Read in the newspaper today that it was a shame that the game ended that way, with Houston's player dropping the ball, not a great defensive play by Florida.

I did the same thing. I was wide awake at 2:00 am and pulled up YouTube and watched everything related to Gator basketball. These are special nights for a college basketball fan and life is too short to sleep it away.

He saw Clayton Jr quickly get in his face as he attempted a 3, but he got triggered from the last time Clayton swatted his earlier 3 point attempt, which ended up in the stands in the 4th row.
