To give an idea of just how great the Gator recruits are, here is how they would have stacked up at this year's NCAA:
100: Lawson, who is a senior, won with a 10.22; Noah Lyles has run a best of 10.14 and this year so far ran a 10.17 (in other words, he is consistent);
200: Lawson won the 200 with a 20.19; Noah has run so far this year a 20.23 and also broke the national record in the indoors. Brother Josephus has run this season a 20.73, which would have been good for 7th at the NCAA meet;
400: Hall won with a great time under 45, but Josephus Lyles best time is 45.46, which would have been good for 4th. His 45.94 this season would have been good enough for 7th at the NCAA meet; Josephus was also national champion in the 60m indoors, while Noah and Holloway had the 2nd and 3rd best marks, a good sign for the 4x100 which returns only Clark.
LJ: Bates placed 3rd om the LJ with a 25-8, but Holloway jumped 25-11 indoors. His top time in the 110HH is 13.61, which would have placed at the NCAA, but HS hurdles are slightly shorter. He did break the long standing HS record in the 60IH and would have won the NCAA meet indoors. He also had the top time in the country in the 500m, which shows he can run the 4x400m relay.
TJ: 6th place finishere in the TJ jumped 52-11, while Jamaican recruit Clayton Brown has jumped 53-0.75.
HJ: 3rd place finisher in the HJ jumped 7-2 1/4, while Brown has jumped 7-2 1/2.
I am not stating that they will finish this high in all of these races, but they will definitely place. However, if they were to score like this UF will add 41 points. And that does not count Connor Bandel, who has thrown the HS discus 204. The 8th place finisher at the NCAA meet threw 189-11. I think you can safely take off at least 10 feet going from HS disc to college disc, but that still places him in the running.
And that still does not count the relays, where UF would definitely contend with LSU. LSU doesn't lose anyone from their 4x100 team, but they lose 2 from their 4x400 team. With Clark, the Lyles brothers and Holloway (or Timmons and Yates), UF will definitely contend and same goes for the 4x400. And keep in mind UF returns Futch, TJ Holmes. Ryan Clark, Kunle Fasisi, Yanick Hart, KeAndre Bates, Anders Eriksson, Andres Arroyo, who disappointed at the regionals, but has run 1:45, plus Holloway pulls out of his every year major contributors in the Fall by either transfers or foreigners (see Fasisi and Eriksson this season). Winning a national tile always helps attract the best. A&M, Oregon and LSU will still be powers, but as long as everyone returns and the frosh are healthy, the Gators should win handily. The Gators will have a legit shot of scoring 100 points if things fall into place. Keep the freshmen for at least 2 years and you are looking at a dynasty like Arkansas used to have.
