Game Day Thread. Florida vs FSU

FSU is simply better than us. Jimbo has outrecruited UF for years and has built up more big time players on both sides of the ball than we have. I don't think he's that great of a coach, either, but it's all about players and he has more elite players than us and it's not even close. I like McElwain and think he took over a program in shambles, particularly offense and special teams. Special teams are already fixed. He simply has to start getting more game changing-type players on offense and find a QB who can play at a Top 10 level. Our O-line is average, but gets pushed around by Top 20 teams. Receivers can't get open and the defense gets worn down by being on the field too much. And the playcalling hardly gives us a chance. No imagination or creativity. Alabama is going to put a beatdown on us. But at least we'll be there, unlike Tennessee & Georgia. Remember, we were picked 3rd in the East 2 years in a row and McElwain got us to Atlanta both seasons. He's building and needs a couple more years to get his guys in the program. I do hope he finds a new OC, but considering all the injuries this team has had, I'm proud of how hard they keep playing.

Very solid analysis.

They...really are scummy.

Bullies.

Eventually the lack of offense even allows a no class bunch like SOW to yuck it up.

Get a better OC, beat these bums asses next year.

We will never beat any team with a pulse ever again with these losers coaching football, ever again...

Defense knows we have to pass, we leave our true freshman OT 1-on-1 with one of the best pass rushers in the country. No TE or back to chip over there or anything. Then stupid fans will blame the players.
Its not the players, we have good enough players to be competent on offense. So the signs point to the staff

So if we don't get a 3rd down conversion before this game ends it'll be the first time since 1980 that FSU held an opponent to no 3rd down conversions in a game. 36 cot damn years. If that doesn't tell you all you need to know about how pathetic this offensive staff is.

pretty bad

We look so pathetic now flinging the ball all over the place trying to score now when we wouldn't do that when the game was in reach.

No way to overcome all those injuries with a roster that is not very deep. Jimbo, who is average as a game day coach, is still better than what we have on the sideline. It adds up to a whipping. Bad news is things will not be any better next year. And next week we actually play a real defense with a real coach....

To fix this thing...
1). Get in the weightroom and get a lot more physical. This team is soft
2). Get some sort of a flexibility program. This team has more injuries than points some games
3). A new offensive mindset and a new O coordinator... Schematically it makes no sense in the run game.
4). Need to get these playmakers the ball in more creative ways

We are a soft non aggressive program from top to bottom and it shows each week and in recruiting. Since Urban left this team has zero toughness and zero determination to be dominant.

Mac and this staff has gotten worse and it will be even worse next year. Mac looks lost and in over his head

Numbers' posts in this thread, every one of 'em, for the win.

LMAO.

Enjoyed the game. Good luck next week boys and girls.

Not sure why that stat was being brought up from 1980. Im almost positive that in the 98 game Florida didn't convert one either.

Idk that's just what they said. Even if it's 98 that's still almost 20 years the last time that happened in this game. We're producing offenses worse than the ones Muschamp had here.

As much as I've heard about Mac and the coaching staff, the defense, conditioning, everything else, but we have a QB who cannot complete a pass beyond the line of scrimmage. It's hard to win like that.

The Gators played tough, physical ball under Muschamp -- at least back in 2012.

I remember the Gator linemen being noticeably bigger, badder and more aggressive than the Noles that year, and pushing us down the field all that afternoon. And Muschamp, for all his faults, never seemed as complacent as McElwain. He was always a hoot to watch on the sidelines.

Morning after.

Yes...for the love of all that is holy, get the offense changed. Yes...staff.

With even a mid level offense yesterday, that game is a win.

He won't change Nuss. Just wait until he starts the LDR rehab tour, getting him ready to start the bowl. Also not sure a mid level offense wins that game. Our defense was also getting gashed.

Right.

If she had balls she WOULD be your uncle.

Get better at offense.

It is coaching when the play call is a five step route combo with only 5 man protection.

You guys have no offense. Everybody that had a pulse scored a bunch of points on us. You need a QB in the worst way. I dont know how good your freshmen are but they better be good.

Our defense played well enough for us to win. The offense did nothing, obviously.
I understand, save for given up a gazzillion yards to Cook. And allowing FSU 11 of 17 third downs.

And we do NOT have an offense, no matter how good or bad the defense might be.

They played well enough for us to win. With the lack of depth and the lack of TOP by the offense, I thought the defense played fine.

Definitely the best defense we faced all year, BUT I was (sincerely) surprised you're the only team to not record a sack against our atrocious O-line. I wagered 3 sacks and 4 knock-downs prior to kick-off.

I was disappointed, but considering the personnel we had available, I was not surprised.

So...I did I just read 11-17 third down conversions! That's the game right there

Keeps one offense on the field moving chains and wears down the defense.

While the offense looked awful...not making 3rd down stops had a lot to do with the game outcome.

Not a single person better be supporting this staff anymore ,they are embarrassments and clueless. They have to go, and go Now. 3 years in a row can't compete with shit ACC schools, Florida Football will be gone forever if they don't get this shit out now because the recruiting is toast too...

:p

This shit ACC school has been owning your ass over the last 30 years, which I'm guessing covers the majority of your time as a fan.

That's delicious.
