Expecting a "retirement" announcement by Trickett by season's end.

Not digging up old bones.

Was it you or someone else that said something along these lines when one of our posters was talking about the 2012 game.

"Trickett will never have that bad of an offense line. He will have better lines or lines at least as good as the top SEC teams."

Not from me....been a Jimbo apologist, not a Kelly or Trickett supporter. O-line has been a weekness for what seems like an eternity!

Seriously, though...it stinks seeing so much potential with our QB, receivers and Backs only to watch it crumble because the line CAN NOT block. Wake Forest LIVED behind the LOS. Let that sink in for a minute.

FSU fans have been calling for Trickett's head since at least 2011. I assumed that he was only still around because his son was the backup (and occasional starting) QB. I thought he would have retired before now, but I guest that post-National Championship pay boost was probably hard to pass up.

I honestly don't know how much of this is an assistant coach problem. I get the feeling that Jimbo tries to do everything himself and basically just has Trickett running drills. I think Jimbo's main flaw is that he thinks he can do everything. He's a good overall head coach and a recruiter, but he really should learn from Dabo Swinney and just be the Head Coach. Maybe Jimbo doesn't want to have a Chad Morris who gets all the credit, but Dabo is doing just fine without him.

Just clean house, get a real OC and some hot, up-and-coming assistants and let them do their jobs. Most modern head coaches don't try to personally do all of the stuff that Jimbo does.

I actually kinda get the coordinator thing. If you got the opportunity to be a HC because of your playcalling, why would you stop doing it? All the great playcallers keep calling plays. Spurrier, Petrino, Kingsbury, Frost, Chip, Mullen, Riley, Herman, Chad Morris, Briles for a while, etc. I don't think continuing to call plays is as big of a deal as most people make it out to be, the key is surrounding yourself with solid assistants and I think that's where Jimbo is effing up.

Matter of fact I have a theory that many of the coaches who hand off playcalling duties only do that so they have a scapegoat later. If you're calling plays from day 1 you don't have anybody to blame. But if you have a coordinator to point to you always have arms length distance.

Sad thing is we dont have awful players. We recruit talented guys, we had 2 classes littered with "4 star" players or top 5 at their position. Yet we produce the worst line in the country lol its hilarious when u think about it. How are u confused on who to block?

Jimbo is a great OC. Problem is not play calling or plays. Its execution because of o line and young qb. I go to every game, we scheme guys open like its our job, we cant get the ball to them because wake forest rushes 3 and gets pressure. Its embarrassing

Lol its hilarious. I dont have it but jesus christ they are just the worst. Im being honest, i dont think they would do worse if you blinded them. How hard is to get a hat on a hat? Block somebody, fvcking anybody, just dont start choppping your feet in place and then whip ur head around in 2 seconds confused on why the QB got smeared

Trickery has definitely perfected the turnstile blocking technique. 18 TFL is very impressive even for him. Hopefully Blackman can make it through the first half against um. But knowing um they will come in too over confident and we can win it. I doubt it but it's possible. I had more confidence in the lost decade teams than the shit show that is the 2018 Noles
