It's a shame that Mark Stoops is actually doing well at Kentucky (no surprise to me, btw). I wouldn't mind having him back. He was a solid DC at FSU. Pruitt wasn't bad either, but he had godlike talent to work with in the year that he was here.
Most defenses aren't great these days, partly due to the targeting rule tilting things in favor of the offense. CFB has changed greatly since that 2011 Bama-LSU trench battle where no one scored a touchdown. I also feel that ACC refs are extra prissy, compared to other conferences. They are part of the reason why ACC teams tend to look a little soft when they play SEC teams. SEC refs allow more physical play. The flipside is when SEC teams play on ACC turf, they get hit with tons of penalties because they are used to playing UFC Ultimate Football. ACC teams are used to pillow fights with Lord Fauntleroy and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
