Franks v. Trask v. Jones in 2020?

I disagree. I don’t see any more losses with Franks. And don’t forget Trask threw the game changing red zone INT against LSU and really could get nothing going against UGa. Maybe Franks wins one of those?

We have losses to KY and SC with Franks with how those games were playing out imo.

Nah, Franks has a 5 cent head. His bone head play would have cost us a couple of games. LSU and Georgia we lost due to defense.

Plus 2-3 pretty good RB receivers coming out of the backfield....

Question - Who is Dan's choice of starting QB right now, Trask, or Jones?
So what makes you think that will change for 2020? o_O
And don't forget, Franks may come back, and Richardson is coming in...

Not saying that he will, but I see a chance that Jones may follow in Toney's path.
You're right...we have some guys...hopefully Grimes stays. We'll have to see. If Trask is the guy that's all good with me. Like seeing Jones out there but Mullen will get who he thinks the best guy on the field and we'll all watch.

I'm actually getting a headache watching Copeland dropping passes.

Really don’t see how anyone could watch the UK game and think we were going to win, until Trask got in there. Franks has superior running skills, but since we can’t run block, that point is negated.

The hope has to be with more game experience, Trask will develop and clean up some mistakes. It seems as if, at this point, Franks has reached his ceiling at UF.

A really big part of me not worrying about the 2020 WR roster is the guy that's coaching them up. o_O

Recently, receivers coach Billy Gonzales was named as a nominee for the Broyles Award given to the top assistant coach in America. Gonzales’ receivers are all about the cause and the team and they play that way in every game. But he also makes sure they are ready when they are suddenly needed to jump into the game.

Jacob Copeland rsFr - 17 for 247 yds, 14.5 yds/rec, 2 TD's, L-37.
Only a few plays per game because of the roster he's playing behind.
He is improving and will continue to improve with game experience and with BillyG's coaching. :)

Let's hope we can retain our coaches.

DC Grantham is the only one that is a possible departure, but I doubt that he will leave. He's at 1 Mill+ and pretty happy at UF for now.

I believe that the rest are pretty rock-solid with Dan & Stricklin.

I have been thinking since the UT game Trask reminds me of Rex. Even running. Rex wasn't a duel threat but he knew when to run and how to run. Kyle makes smart runs.

?????

He takes TERRIBLE sacks so not sure how that equates to ‘smart runs’.

Mizzou 1st half = 4 sacks.
They occurred in 2.5 sec, 2.0 sec, 1.5 sec, 1.5 sec. (I timed them)
Trask didn't take sacks on 5 sec drops, or even on 3 sec drops.
He didn't 'TAKE' sacks,,, the OL gave them away for free... o_O

66.8% - 12.5 yds/comp, 21 TD's, 6 Ints, L-66
3 Rushing TD's with several 3rd down runs for 1st downs.

Overall he's done a great job, he's not started but a few games in like 7 years. He's improving and has brought us from behind to win multiple games. Has taken bad sacks too.

Rex Grossman never got sacked?

He has ran and picked up first downs as well as touchdowns. He knows his limits and doesn't try to force a run...but runs when the opportunity is present. Much how Rex did.

He gun slings the ball at times to make a big play. When it works(more times than not) we love the play. When it gets intercepted many freak out. Rex did the exact same damn thing but we bitxhed when he didnt win the Heisman.

I am curious how next season plays out without a top 5 nationally talent level receiving group and probably a still mediocre run blocking O line.

I swear to God, If you continue to downgrade a coach who will be averaging at least 10 wins a year, I will block you and advise everyone else to do the same.

Don't block him Liz, just keep on laughing at this 'fevered brain fool' like I do. :D
And remember >>> "All Quality Recruiting Ends In August" -- fevered-brain

Lol I will go farther he should be canned if he can't beat the buttsniffers with his own players after 4 years. Heck even Ole Butters did that twice and made 2 SECCGs. You guys say how Smart is such an idiot but he is whipping Mullen with no problem.

Another one that thinks getting whipped by the idiot Smart and not making SECCGs is alright. Crazy the lowered expectations lately

There is a difference between compete for a national title every year and win a national title every year. You seem to think it should be the latter. It should not.

No there is a difference from losing your division every year and now the talent difference will even widen next season. Our only chance is if the new buttsniffer QB is garbage probably.

Unfortunately we won't find out till after the 2020 season. I don't think Fromm makes an NFL roster, let alone get drafted. Fromm should be back for his final year. As for Carson Beck and watching a few of his games, I'm not impressed. It was a blessing in disguise that Beck supposedly trolled us for a Georgia scholarship.
If Fromm is as smart as I think he is, he'll be back next season.

I will be really surprised if someone doesn't take him late 2nd round but he may return next season

Carson Beck is highly overrated.

You vastly overestimate the intelligence of NFL front offices.

Okay, okay! I absolutely forgot about the NFL themselves, but Georgia fans better hope Fromm is smart enough to stick around for his last year of eligibility.

Fromm only plays good against UF for some reason. Mainly because Grantham runs some kind of horrible defensive scheme against them.

SEC refs called ZERO holding calls on LSU in our game.

SEC refs called ZERO holding calls on UGly in our game.
They finally did call 1 very obvious hold on UGly on a running play.

And vs UGly, where were the Gator starting DE's?

So, if they all come back what does Coach do? I’m sure most of you are like me and would go with Kyle Trask and here is why ranking the best as a 1:

Player. Trask. Franks. Jones

Arm Strgth 2. 1. 3
Running. 3. 2. 1
Decisions. 1. 3. 2
Experience. 2. 1. 3
Results. 1. 1. 2
Attitude. 1. 3. 2

It looks like Franks has better results but, in my book the most important things for a QB besides the obvious results, is the decision making ( good and avoiding the bad ) and in that category Trask is far and away a better Q.B. than Franks and Jones hasn’t had enough P.T. I just hope he doesn’t go into the transfer portal as the job is his in 2021.
Does it really matter? Kirby returns that elite defense in 2020. It's looking like 4 SEC east titles in a row for Kirby's Dawgs......unless of course we lose our bowl game.....aka...Texas. Which according to Gator logic is a true indicator of the level of success a team will have the following season. :confused:o_O:rolleyes:

In 4 years, 4th and dumb has 1 SEC-C and ZERO NC's.

Of course, no other nuttlicker HC has a NC since 1980 Vince was given one by the vote of the media-morons... o_O

McLame won 2 SECe's when the SECe was in a down cycle.
4th & Dumb has won 3 SECe's when the SECe was in a down cycle.
That worm is about to turn again, but keep on whistling past the grave yard, I fine it amusing...

Looks to me like 10 starters on that defense are juniors or seniors, so I think what you meant was you hope your QB is back because otherwise you will be going into 2020 with a Freshman QB and 8-10 new starters on defense, plus Cager and Woerner and Swift will be gone, basically your entire offensive production.

Good luck next year. You will NEED it.

Kyle Trask is 16th in the NCAA (FBS) in passing efficiency and Florida is 22nd in the Nation in passing offense...

...wtf are we talking about, again?

You all keep trying to make this about Trask, it ain’t about him. It’s about Mullen and what offense he decides to run. Do you think it’s a coincidence he chose Franks to be his starter twice? He wants an athletic QB. And when he doesn’t have one his offense isn’t as good as it can be.

If he changes the offense then fine keep Trask the starter. If he runs what he’s always run there’s a ceiling on the offense.

Mullen's entire run game is based upon the QB being a threat. When he is it opens up things up for the backs.
