Feliepe Franks signed a 400,000 dollar contract with the Red Sox after being drafted in this past years MLB draft.

The question is whether Franks will have a brighter future in the MLB or NFL? Another year under Dan Mullen may make him an interesting pro prospect, he posseses the physical tools.

Nor sure why baseball gives these signing bonuses to players that haven't played baseball since high school. Has one ever made it to the big leagues after not playing baseball in college?

Tebow’s batting .200 in AAA.

I love Tebow as a Gator, an even better person from what I know of him.. That said, if he wasn't Tim Tebow, he wouldn't be signed right now.. Minor league baseball teams depend on big names to generate revenue.. I haven't looked into exactly what their revenue sharing is with their big league affiliate, but I imagine they depend on gate revenue to keep the lights on.

I hope that he continues to improve as the Gator QB.

And while I'll wish him well when he leaves UF, I G-a-S about what he does or doesn't do in the NFL or MLB. I'm a Gator sports fan.

Is this a proclamation??? He would net somebody a big payoff if they put money on him preseason.
It’s not a terrible futures bet. sadgator saw him at like 200-1 odds a few months ago. Given the receiving crew and being second year under Mullen, he will likely put up some gigantic numbers. The problem is, the team ain’t good enough to prop him up well enough and he’ll be climbing uphill all year after the loss to Miami.

Sad, agree with you. OL a huge Question Mark; Defense solid, but probably not great.

Realize you have been picking Canes all preseason; hope that by Aug 25th, your prediction will be null & void !

When you run Georgia's offense, you have to have a phenomenal offensive line to have any chance at all against better teams. But our offense only needs to be decent on the OL to get the job done.

So our offense is going to be good enough to put Franks in Heisman contention, but not good enough to beat a shit squad like Miami?

I don’t know about Heisman, but I think he will be in the conversation to be drafted in the first round. Athletically, he’s got everything. And he’s going to put up good numbers in this offense.

It will be interesting to see what his game is like this year... it's coming up soon...thank the lord!

Offensive line may be a problem.

Holy Cow...sadgator wants to beat those sumbitches SO bad...it is coming soon...

Last season was the streakbuster, Kentucky beat us for the first time in my life.. We stopped that five game streak against Florida State, and we beat Michigan for the first time ever.

It's time to beat the U.

It’ll probably be obvious after Franks wins the heisman this year...

Don’t laugh...
If we lose to Miami like you seem to think we do then I’m willing to beat Franks had a poor game and not a Heisman worthy performance. If Franks has a good game against Miami then we will win for sure.

This year’s team will go as far as Franks and the oline can take it.

I dont think he has the mind for football. Baseball is more talent than IQ. Not saying u dont need IQ it just takes less than playi g QB. He should go baseball if in fact he was offered that much but i want him to stay in football. Hes our best chance to win this yr.

You don’t have much of a chance to win this year. The 2 teams coaching staffs aren’t even comparable.

It won’t make any sense...it is Miami...

It will make sense probably. If we get upset by Miami it means that our O line got ate up by Miami's front 7 and Franks wasn't a game changer to overcome that. If our O line is able to establish a good run game it may be a long day for Miami.

Another thing is Miami has some really good receiving TEs and we are known for letting them run free at times.

Huge mistake for him not to switch to NFL Tight End or Full Back. sadgator will never understand that.

Or go play in Canada. If he had lit it up there, he would have got another shot somewhere. As they say, Tebow works in mysterious ways.

He wasn't gonna play anywhere as QB again, they didn't want him in the league. That became obvious when you had random no-name coaches saying they wouldn't even sign him as backup because he'd be a distraction. So dumb.

So why stick around when you're not getting a shot? Go do something else with your time. I don't think he'd have been anything more than average as a starter but there are guys who have sucked for decade still hanging around not just as starters but as backups too. I wouldn't have switched either.

Tebow got screwed when McDaniels got blown out of Denver for Spygate Pt. 2. McD drafted him in the first round and would had his own credibility at stake in making an offense work around Tebow and is obviously one of the brighter offensive minds. Reportedly it was Tebow’s decision to come to the Jets over Jax, because Tebow and his agent wanted to be in NYC. So that was a self-inflicted wound.

As a Denver fan, I would have loved to have seen Tebow get a shot to make it work with McDaniels.
