I agree. You and I are of a certain age, where we lived in the era of the Silent Majority. And there was one.
The Tea Party was almost an accident of the times, born if you will out of rage during the Obama era. It was hijacked from within and became something else...effectively neutered.
Romney was - and is - a representative of the old Marquis of Queensbury wing of the Party. Go along to get along, repeat platitudes for the benefit of the voters, produce sound bites, and "compromise" in the name of bipartisanship. It's why the Dems have moved us left. Because they're not really looking to compromise. It's a game of increments, of inches. The camels nose under the tent. They're relentless and ruthless. And we see where it's gotten this country.
Anyone who cannot see that we are essentially at the brink is willfully blind.

The democratic party is in virtual lockstep on EVERY issue. When do you see democrats breaking away on key issues or really any issues. There are no moderate democrats anymore. What they used to call blue dogs are long gone. Look at how far left they have gotten on abortion. They want zero limitations even if the baby is to be born tomorrow. But they even support infanticide. If a baby survives attempted abortion and lives, the choice is still there to either provide care or kill it. Barbaric doesn't begin to cover it.
Look at the supreme court. The 4 liberal judges are always in lockstep on the big cases. Can you remember the last time a liberal judge went away from the pack on their vote in a major case or most cases? I cannot. But not the supposedly conservative judges. It stall galls me to this day that John Roberts upheld that garbage Obamacare farce to make people buy under the premise of taxation. It failed under the commerce clause. Judge Kennedy was pissed. You are far more likely to see a conservative judge break than a liberal judge.
