Watching the Peach Bowl replay on the SEC Channel. From reading this board, I know Florida fans are very excited about this year's possibilities. At least some of that comes from dominating Michigan in the Peach. My question is how much did Michigan's loss of 4 key players (1st round DE Rashan Gary, Lead RB and team captain Karan Higdon, All American linebacker Devin Bush and tackle Bushnell-Beatty) impact their loss?

It didn’t. We beat their asses. Teams that make excuses for losses in bowl games are losers...you probably know a thing or two about that..

The biggest glaring difference was that Michigan was grossly outCoached and outschemed by a team didn’t have any of those first round talents. Our talent is coming, our coaching is here.

?

40-15? Not enough to make that big of a difference.

They had to make up for a 21 point loss to Mizzou somehow. A depleted UM defense really helped with that.

Yep. It also helped against south carolina and fsu. Had it not been for those 4 players we wouldn't have won those either....or the lsu game for that matter.

A total of 4 players for Michigan held out for the Bowl game. 2 starters on defense and one starter on offense. Such a depleted defense.

Would you say that a first round draft pick defensive end and an All American linebacker might have made a difference? I believe that linebacker Roquan Smith was the difference in a few games for UGA.

Those 4 players definitely made up almost 30 points. And UF didn’t have any players out injured or anything either. There’s the answer you were looking for. Happy now ?

We had key players out against UK and UGA, but you didn't hear me whine. So I guess this justifies Georgia's excuse as to why they lost their Bowl game. That's just like us making excuses for losing to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl back on New Years Day of 92.

There was plenty of talent on that Michigan defense. Mainly the dude who mocked the gator chomp and number 7 on defense.

If you go by recruiting rankings Michigan still had the most talented roster on the field...by a bit.

And to your point against UK on defense alone we didn’t have our starting nose tackle, starting middle linebacker, second best corner got injured the first play of the game, and then the backup linebacker got injured during the game. Of course that gets glossed over when it’s time to mock us for losing to UK though. Kick rocks OP.

I am simply trying to evaluate the opposition for UGA this upcoming season. Since most prognosticators project Florida as UGA's toughest competitor in the SECE this year, I am naturally more interested in analyzing your team. Watching the Peach Bowl today, the thought occurred to me that Florida's image may have been artificially enhanced a bit by the beat down of Michigan. Is this not a viable theory? Would the game not have been at least a lot closer if the AA Devin Bush, the 1st round pick Rashan Gary and the lead RB and Captain Karan Higdon had played? Losing those guys also had to have had a morale deflating impact on the team.

Yes, we’re overrated. We were completely healthy all throughout the year and that game and beat a severely undermanned team. There’s the answer you wanted to hear. Move on with your day now.

Thanks ooze. That helps. I'm only interested in November 2 though.

And what would that game have to do with November 2? And why do you all do this passive aggressive bullshit? Just get to the point already and say what you were implying. We’re overrated and can’t hope to possibly give you a game this year. There I just saved you the time.

Just defended your team on the DawgVent. I think you are very good with depth on the OL and DB's being the only vulnerability. This is YOU're board. I'm not going to be a jerk over here. Since you asked, I am hoping that you are over-rated. I'm not sold that Franks has his emotions in check yet. He has a terrible completion percentage when pressured. Other than Franks and depth, I think Florida is very good. I just think UGA is better. As I type, I'm listening to Danny Sheriden on Finebaum. He is predicting Georgia to win the national championship. I've heard 3 other notable analysts (television personalities) predict UGA to beat Alabama in the SECC game.....BTW, Sheriden predicted Florida to win 8 games.

And, similarly, I believe that lack of quality depth will hurt you again this season.

They also lost quite a few during the game...

Linebacker Devin Bush, the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, defensive end Rashan Gary, running back Karan Higdon and right tackle Juwann Bushell-Beatty, did not play. Bush, who led the team with 80 tackles and was an emotional leader and co-captain, Gary and Higdon, the team’s leading rusher who had 1,178 yards and 10 touchdowns, are preparing for the NFL Draft. Bushell-Beatty wasn’t fully healthy.

The defense also took injury hits during the 41-15 loss on Saturday in the first half when linebacker Devin Gil and defensive end Kwity Paye left the game with hamstring injuries. Cornerback David Long left the game in the fourth quarter with an injury.

They don’t have any good players, clearly. That’s why they’re considered one of the best teams in the country without those players this year, because everyone else on their roster sucked. It’s not like their roster was made up of multiple top 5 classes. Anything to downplay UF’s win.

Meanwhile our backup center in the game was a former walk-on.

So many times I have heard from fleas that injuries are not an excuse.

Except this time, apparently.

Because when it's approaching 40 years with no natty, you have nothing else to do.

UGaly fans are in desperation mode. I’ve never seen a fan base so insecure.

They've all been over here for 3 months pretty much giving a clad iron guarantee they will win a natty. Problem is they were predicting 3 in 4 years after kirbys 2nd year run....need to hurry up as they will have to win 3 in a row for that.

They will hold on too anything. Some analysts says UGA will win the national title and they jump on it as if it is a fact. It’s hilarious. Real titles don’t mean anything to them. It’s recruiting rankings and preseason polls is all that matters to them.

I’m sure you’d be quite content if Kirby never wins another bowl game then. Somehow, I doubt that.
No, but not too worried about the last one. Fir one, it’s nitnthe CFP so none of us should care a whole lot otherwise. And it’s just one game. Not a great way to finish, and I can’t understand why players can’t get up fir every game, but it happens.

Funny how you and every Georgia fan here were celebrating a 2nd place finish in 2017 and celebrating when Georgia finished as runners up in the SEC just last season. No different than winning or losing a Bowl game.

Bowl games aren’t important but recruiting rankings and pre-season rankings are. Just ask the Dawg fans.

You’ll never admit it because y’all are dug in now but the excuse of not caring about a major bowl game is just that...a shitty excuse. And it doesn’t reflect well on your coaches or players. It’s not like y’all are Bama who’s used to playing for national championships every season to where missing out on the playoffs would be a major disappointment. Y’all have played in one major bowl game in the last decade or so now y’all are too good for the Sugar Bowl against a blue blood like Texas?

That doesn’t mean your team sucks or it will carry over to the next season, just like winning a bowl game doesn’t carry over to the next season for us or any team that won their game, but great teams find a way to get up for games. That y’all couldn’t only means y’all weren’t the great team y’all thought you were. We’ll see this year.

Celebrating? No, don’t think so. Maybe more like at least we were there and had the chance, unlike your program.
