Florida/Texas A&M Gameday Thread

I'm not longing for the days of Muschamp. No freaking way. He's a loser coach. I still remember those Ga Southern, Vandy and Mizzou games.

I want Stricklin to go find a good coach so that we can move on past the Muschamp and McElewain years. Muschamp was terrible. I don't miss him one bit. Just like I won't miss McElewain.

Ask Sagan and Bama!! They run it to perfection and what most teams run is not the Pro style it’s called the pistol spread option…Bama runs the Pro style to perfection
Bama’s starting QB has 614 rushing yards this year through 7 games. He had 1100 last year. You tell me which pro team does that? Saban abandoned the pro style when he hired kiffen and quit playing stiffs like McElroy and McCarron He no longer uses a fullback and they run zone read out of the spread.
This dead fish offense we “try” to run is the one that’s been discarded by Saban and is basically extinct in college and more importantly High School. Nobody is producing pro style players anymore. On offense or defense.

FWIW saban has always been a 3-4 defense guy. He uses 4 man fronts when he’s in nickel or dime. But it’s to put pass rushers in the game.

The kid that will replace Hurts is a passing qb. Bama can run any offense and win. I have no clue what type of offense we run.
Very true. Saban recruits 5 star players at every position and has 5 star players coming off the bench. But he's a master motivator and adapts each year's team to create a unique identity that fits with his personnel. I can't stand the guy, but he can flat out coach. And as for our Gator team, you are exactly right. We have no identity and are not committed to any one style of play except to keep running the same handful of plays over & over and hope the players make something happen. Crazy.

In fairness to Muschamp, he was young and UF was his first HC gig. It's entirely possible that he learned some lessons from his time here. Whatever else you can say about him, he is super, insanely enthusiastic about his job.

On the other hand, Mac always has this perpetual look on his face like he's watching a Carl Sagan documentary on Outer Space, instead being on the sidelines of a football game.

I would say Mac has this perpetual look like he's Will Muschamp watching a Carl Sagan documentary on outer space.

Do we all agree that Grier will be a first round pick? What kind of idiot runs off a first round pick? Meanwhile he's bending over backward to keep Calloway until he gets busted for a felony. It makes no sense. I don't think he knows what he's doing.

I was fairly drunk in the second half, but do I remember correctly that we lined up on 4th down from like our own 30 and tried to draw them offsides and then when they didn't jump we just took the penalty and then shanked the punt to give them good field position? I have literally never seen that play happen. I've seen people take the penalty but it's when they're at around midfield and you don't mind the extra room to try to pin the punt deep. We were playing field position for Christ sakes. I don't think this guy knows what he's doing.

Well we actually got some bs by the refs in that whole scenario, we actually got the first down on 3rd down you could see Powell got to the line, it wasn't even reviewed, then they ran into our punter and caused the bad kick, wasn't flagged.. Same usual nonsense we deal with on top of being patheticallly coached

You have Dre Massey touch the ball twice and average about 5 yards a run...one being a first down. The other a TD. After that...let's abandoned him. Makes a lot of sense.

That's because he wanted Del Rio which seems to be forgotten by all the people who thinks Grier would have saved him. Everybody close to the team, including reporters stated that he wanted Del Rio to start in 2015 which is why he pushed so hard to get him that waiver. Then he kept Grier in a QB battle long after it was clear he was the most talented. IIRC Treon was slated to start the UT game before he failed a drug test. So yea...he doesn't know what he's doing.

Mac did not challenge it either.

He made so many mistakes in this game
