GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators have added an exhibition game to their schedule, squaring off against Division II Eckerd College at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m.
The game will provide UF an opportunity to get comfortable in the same surroundings where the team opens its season with a pair of neutral contests against Florida Gulf Coast on Nov. 11 and Mercer on Nov. 13.
The Gators have won 26 straight exhibition games, which have all been played in Gainesville, dating back to 2002. The last UF vs. Eckerd meeting was an exhibition that marked the first appearance in a Gator uniform for Al Horford, Corey Brewer and Taurean Green. Horford’s double-double (12 points, 12 rebounds) helped the Gators to a 90-70 victory in Gainesville on Nov. 9, 2004.
Tickets will be available starting tomorrow, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. at the Tom Bush Family of Dealerships Box Office located at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone at (800) 745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
