Fall Practice

McElwain changed the day after he ripped Kelvin Taylor a new one on the sidelines. He never showed that much passion or emotion about anything ever again.

He didn’t change, his outburst was just fake. That wasn’t the real him and that’s why he got no respect for it.

It is weird...sadgator just doesn’t dislike Mac like he dislikes Muschamp. Muschamp was the anti-everything. He was responsible for completing ripping the soul out of our program. He put that Gator head in the middle of the field. He stole it all.

Mac was stuck with the fallout and didn’t know how to give us back our identity, because he didn’t know us before.

Dan knows who we are. Dan lived it at its peak. Dan is bringing our soul back to life, because it knows what Florida Football is...it is why sadgator is so thankful to have him.

Better late than never, I guess...

I'm not sure Mus was the one who removed the F from mid-field.

And if Dan understands us, he should put it back.

He totally did. He made it look like the big giant Georgia “G.” Muschamp is a creep, an agent of evil, the anti-gator, the most destructive and damaging figure to ever set foot in the University of Florida athletic department.

Muschamp should be banned from a 100 mile radius of the campus.

Well if that's all up to the coach, why doesn't Dan change it back?

More like 200 miles.

Heck, all non-Gator college coaches should be banned in that area.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida's defense took a major step forward in 2018, but there's still plenty of room to improve.

Luckily, the Gators were able to convince defensive coordinator Todd Grantham to stay despite NFL overtures. And that's no small feat. Grantham improved the Florida defense by 49 spots in the national rankings in scoring defense and 3 spots in an already solid total defense year-over-year.

Perhaps more importantly, he turned the Gators into an extremely disruptive unit. Florida went from No. 79 nationally in sacks to No. 19 and from No. 81 in takeaways to No. 11. That kept opposing offenses on their heels in most games.

So, what's going on now at Fall practice?

"It’s a lot of different schemes, a lot of different blitzes and it gives a lot of people at a lot of positions a chance to make plays," defensive tackle Adam Shuler said. "That’s what I think I like most about it. We disguise it a lot. We move the fronts, and then we got a lot of different players who play different spots and different positions, so you never know who’s going to do what."

Now that everyone's more comfortable, too, the installation is going much quicker. Expect Florida to have plenty of new wrinkles for Miami in the season opener. The sheer unpredictability, coupled with UF's elite athletes, should make for a fun-to-watch scheme.

"I think we can be fantastic," Moon said. "We got a lot of guys that have been here for a long time and know what to do, where to be, they give great effort -- that’s really all it is. I think we can do something special this year, honestly."

People think that the scUM have a loaded defense...
Just wait until they get a load of the Gator-D...
