Good recruiter and coach. But y'all know why Saban booted him, right? What about Kevin Steele as DC?
These guys have a damn idea that Napier is a sure fire Saban. If your dream staff starts with Napier as HC, you aren't dreaming big enough.
Frankly I don't believe he could throw his visor far enough.....jimI wonder how Spurrier would be as OC? Yes, I know, it would never happen but I wonder if he could still scheme effectively?
Do they know he was never OC at Bama, but was OC at Clemson, and got fired for it?These guys have a damn idea that Napier is a sure fire Saban.
i am serious, if you didn’t know football and read TOS you would ask, “Is Napier the guy who coaches Alabama or is he the New England Patriots coach.”
its the damn oddest thing I have ever seen
Ghost, if he screws this hire up he might be the next to go........jimDo they know he was never OC at Bama, but was OC at Clemson, and got fired for it?
Look, the guy is a great recruiter, but he's an unknown as a head coach at Florida. I just don't understand why you fire a guy like Mullen, and your only options for replacing him are a list of Plan B coaches, all of who are unknowns.
IMO that looks like the AD needs to be fired more than the HC did.
FWIW Napier was like 30 yrs old when he was Clemson’s OC. Pretty damn young. A lot can happen. To me Napier is very intriguing assuming a couple of other things happen.Do they know he was never OC at Bama, but was OC at Clemson, and got fired for it?

Mullen is a good coach but things went south middle of last year and he doesn’t want to be here anymore. You can’t keep a coach that has lost interest and can’t stand the pressure. It is what it is. Unfortunately ties had to be cut.
Cristobal is one of the worst names I’ve heard to honest. He’s from Miami and he’s a Miami Hurricane and he hates UF. He’s a very good recruiter but bad X’s and O’s I don’t think we will approach him and I don’t think he would come here anyways. Why would we want a coach that is a Hurricane and doesn’t like UF?I would take Napier over most of the other names I have heard. I might even prefer him over someone like Cristobal despite him being at a big power 5 school. I think Cristobal could end up about like Franklin at Penn State here with Georgia playing the role of Ohio State.
Vince Dooley was a War Eagle that became a UGA legend of a coach.Cristobal is one of the worst names I’ve heard to honest. He’s from Miami and he’s a Miami Hurricane and he hates UF. Did they hate the school they were coaching at? Cristobal hates UF. And I will reiterate Cristobal is not a good X’s and O’s guy.Vince Dooley was a War Eagle that became a UGA legend of a coach.
Pat Dye was UGA Bulldog player and was HC at Auburn(with an assistant position at Bama) and won the War Eagles 4 SEC titles.
David Cutcliffe was a Bama player, assistant at Rival Tennessee and later HC at rival Ole Miss but not a spectacular career as an SEC HC.
Bill Curry was a Ga Tech football player and HC at Bama. Nothing to brag about but he flipped sides when it came for a career.
Then there was Will Muschamp who went to one of UGA's biggest rival and their border companion SCar 😁
Some guy named Steve Spurrier who is the poster child of what is a Florida Gator and coached at divisional opponent SCar and led them to their greatest seasons.
Not saying I want Mario but I don't let where they played college ball bother me.
Mark Richt didn't mind calling plays as an OC at FSU to beat his former college team.
Im sure at some point during their playing careers Dooley hated UGA and Dye hated Auburn.Did they hate the school they were coaching at? Cristobal hates UF.
His name sounds too much like “Crystal Ball”. That’s enough right there.
Im sure at some point during their playing careers Dooley hated UGA and Dye hated Auburn.
Then there is Randy Shannon 🤣
Theres sooooooo many fascinating coaching changes that didn't happen and almost did in SEC history. Dooley and Dye flipping and coaching the other rival is a great example.Vince Dooley was a War Eagle that became a UGA legend of a coach.

I remember Ray Graves was a Vol player who coached Steve Spurrier at UF.Theres sooooooo many fascinating coaching changes that didn't happen and almost did in SEC history. Dooley and Dye flipping and coaching the other rival is a great example.
Another is when Bama hired Red Drew from Ole MIss in 47. Drew wanted to take his whole staff to Tuscaloosa. His OC decided to stay in Oxford and interview for the Ole Miss job, which he got.
His name was Johnny Vaught. If he follows Drew to Tuscaloosa, Drew probably coaches at Bama a few more years, then Vaught takes over.
We would have been a lot better in the 50s, but we also miss out on hiring Bryant. He probably stays at A&M and they become a powerhouse.
Wasn't there some weird coincidence with Spurrier coming to Florida that had to do with Armsparger? He wanted him to go to LSU or something?
