Don't be surprised if Grier...

Grier's suspension allowed him to continue practicing with the team. Why didn't he?
From what I have read, it was a coaching decision. He was not going to play this year. So even though him practicing is helpful to his development, there was a perception that it would create a bigger distraction for the rest of the team

Next year will be different. He will be eligible to play the second half of the year.

[QUOTE"93nole99, post: 551741, member: 758"]What the public doesn't know:

1. The name of the banned substance Will Grier tested positive for.
2. The alleged product Will says he bought "over the counter".
3. Whether he knew what he was taking was banned.
[/QUOTE]

Another interesting question is how did Grier and only Grier test positive for a banned substance when half or more of players on virtually every team in the NCAA are taking something on the banned substance list. Nobody seems to want to offer an answer there. The timing of the test was unusual as well from what I know(typically pre-season and at tournament/post season time unless something changed recently).

Saban-Miles-Jimblow all demanded the NCAA test Grier,,, and then they all prayed for the 'right' outcome.... :D

From Thomas Goldkamp;

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --
Florida quarterback Will Grier won't return to practice with the team during bowl season, coach Jim McElwain said Tuesday.

However, the redshirt freshman quarterback will still be a part of the program in the future after meeting with McElwain late last week. Grier will return to the team on Jan. 5 after the Citrus Bowl.

"He can't go to the bowl site anyway," McElwain said. "But he'll join us back up in, what is it, Jan. 5. I think that's the first day we're going, so he'll be ready to roll."

Grier has continued to go through classes since his suspension on Oct. 12 for failing an NCAA drug test, and his grades have remained fine. He was on campus on and off throughout the semester as he dealt with the NCAA appeals process.

"He finishing up his finals now and everything from that standpoint," McElwain said. "It’s tough on everybody. The poor guy, walking on campus ain’t easy. I just feel sick about it. Yeah, it’s not easy, and yet when you learn things when they don’t go well they really make you stronger."

His appeal to have a 12-month suspension reduced by the NCAA was denied, so Grier won't be eligible to play for Florida again until Game 7 of the 2016 season, an Oct. 15 homecoming game against Missouri.

Interesting to fans who have no interest in UF's success; not interesting to the person you are responding or those that share his interests.

This is why I said what I did earlier about both TH & WG moving on.
TH = Talent, but not good enough
WG = The NCAA killed both his rsFr and rsSo seasons with their draconian 365 day suspension.

Trask is the #2 QB for (still in the 6A playoffs) Manvel,TX
Franks is the starter for (still in the 5A playoffs) Crawfordville, FL
Both are in the 6-6 220 (and mobile) range.
Eason is still an outside possibility to flip, and Grier is still a possible xfer out.
All should be settled down by the 2nd week in Feb... o_O
You still think you have a shot at Eason? Really???

Hey twit, that was an old post from when Eason began looking around.
BTW, Eason took a dump in the Wash. HS playoff's in their first round game.
I guess that freed him up to look around a bit... o_O

I never even really wanted Eason, but he is the one that gave UF a 'shot' when HE decided to consider UF.

What I said was that I doubted that he wanted to face the stiff completion for starting QB at UF.
QB-PP Kyle Trask 6-6 218
QB-PP Feleipe Franks 6-6 220 (LSU flip)
And those two have even apparently also run off prior Gator starter Will Grier.

At UGly, the leghumpers will likely make Eason the 2016 starter, due to their crappy QB roster.... :p

When looking at the Gator's qb depth (or lack thereof), why would he have been scared off? I would argue that UGA and UF have similar qb talent problems. Eason is the #1 qb prospect and has been for several years. It might be possible that he just didn't really want to come to Florida. Players have been known to go play and have success elsewhere (Jeff Driskell). I highly doubt a 2 star prospect scared him. Although I'm sure it's fun to imagine a true freshman leading a team against an SEC schedule. That has always worked out well for teams in the past.

And you just made fun of "leghumpers" for likely making Eason their qb for 2016 due to lack of depth, but just did the same thing with Franks and the 2 star kid for Floriday. Irony much?

Fact is that your Coach and Ad ran off Grier not the incoming talent.

Now why am I not in the least bit surprised by those numbers?

Link, or just the usual unfounded BS. o_O

1. Trask and Franks are what they are. I have my own opinions on how they will do. Franks is a **** 6.0 and Trask was evaluated in person by Nuss as being better than any 5 Star QB in this class. Pardon me if I go by my own eyes and Nuss's opinion/evaluations instead of a fan that from sucky, has-been tennis-sea. :p

2. True Fr QB Leak is the ONLY tFr QB in NCAA history to beat 3 Top 11 ranked teams, on the road, in consecutive games, and he beat LSU in Death Valley the season (2003) that they won the BCS-NC.
~ True Fr QB Tebow then helped UFand Sr Leak to win the 2006 BCS-NC.
Both were named to the SEC's All Freshman Team.

3. UF's 2016 QB depth won't be KNOWN until Sept comes around. For now, it's just speculation and opinion, and I'll trust mine over your's any day.

UF has true Freshmen make the SEC All Freshman teams almost every year. So unlike most other places, UF is not afraid to play true freshmen that have the talent. Both DE/DT CeCe and OT/OG Ivey made Fr All SEC this past season, o_O with clueless twits telling me that the DL/OL are the most difficult for true freshmen to even play on, but they started some games.

So tell me, are you the ole Mad-Dog-Dollie, or one of the many other twits that drivel on, at the rivals tennis-sea board? o_O fess-up

While I'm sure all that history from 12-13 years ago, will have a huge impact on a true freshman playing next season, this Florida team isn't exactly loaded with talent like those teams were and don't have Urban Meyer roaming the sidelines.

I find it amazing that "Nuss" claimed a 2 star, who had offers from Fresno State, Tulsa, and La. Laff, is the best qb prospect in the nation. But I'll pretend with you.

You dodged my pointing out your hypocritical comment that the "leghumpers" would be stupid to name a true freshman qb their starter, but in the same post bragged that Florida would do the same thing. Wouldn't Florida naming a true frosh qb starter be just as telling of the lack of qb depth, as it would be at UGA? Or does that only apply to teams that your not a homer for?

None of my business, but you're barking up the wrong tree here.

Your points are valid, but you don't understand what you're dealing with here with this particular poster.

I'd suggest you just grin and smile and drink some whiskey. Don't try to get into an actual debate here my friend. It will only frustrate you sir.

By working with Special Education students on a daily basis, I am very aware of how these responses will go. It takes a lot to get banned from your own home board, so that is evidence enough. I know the history. Trust me.

Some people will debate with actual mature responses, while some people side step facts with incoherent 8 paragraph manifestos, copying and pasting the same manufactured responses, without actually addressing any previous statements that were proven false.

Alright then you get it. Just making sure you weren't going into uncharted territory.

"By working with Special Education students on a daily basis, I am very aware of how these responses will go."

And yet you continue to engage....interesting. Hopefully those "Special Education students" are teaching you something about yourself as well.

I would be very concerned as a parent if my child had special needs and was forced to be around someone whom chose to lump them in with a message board poster. And it seems simply because said poster's shtick is to sound like a rambling, incoherent moron.

FYI...having special needs is not analogous to Insta. smdh

P.S. We beat you toothless inbreds again in Knaxville.(Isn't that how you hillbillies say it? Knaxville)
Book it!:D

I think that I can see why they stuck you with those students, or did you just choose to teach at your own comfort level?

Relevance:
Statement - True Freshmen can't play at an SEC level.
Response - Then explain both Leak, Tebow, and Treon, just to name to recent tFr starter QB's at UF. o_O

UF's HBC McElwain had 2 BCS-NC's at UA as the OC.
Meyer had 2 BCS-NC's at UF as the HBC.
UF's OC Nussmeier had 1 BCS-NC at UA as the OC replacement for McElwain.

Your usual level of mis-quoting:
"Nuss" claimed a 2 star is the best qb prospect in the nation.
Actual quote:
Kyle Trask is better than any 5 star QB coming out of HS that I've seen this year.
(which ones has he personally seen and evaluated? I don't know, do you?)

Please give me a link to the post where I said that UGly would be stupid to start a tFr at QB.
(crickets)

You are clueless or biased as to why I was banned here. And btw, that mod is no longer a mod here.
I believe that I was banned do to responding in kind to a mod's butt-buddy, and for speaking my mind and opinions on things that could be considered negative about UF's past, (like C.Pell). They never explained it or sent me an email before banning me, so I don't truly know his/their reasons, nor do I care at this point. And I certainly don't G-a-S what your opinion is about it.

Mighty tennis-sea has a losing All Time W/L record against Florida.
Mighty tennis-sea is currently on an 11 game LOSING streak to my Gators.
Proving to me that you and your rubber-dollies are has-been losers.... :p

PS -- I don't care if that stretched the 'attention spans' of you or a couple of others here,,,, it's kind of a 'gray' area imoho....
