OLB Jalen Reeves Maybin and CB Cam Sutton are both Injured. Both are seniors who would go in the NFL 1-3rd rounds if the injuries are healed. Junior DE Derrick Barnett is a 1st Rounder. Sure made your LT look sad, didn't he?
Got 2 Senior DTs who start but the true stars are both Sophs in the two man rotation. Senior DT Danny O'Brian might grab a late 6-7 round offer. I've seen a lot worse chosen.
The remainder of the defense will return next season save for 2 other Senior DEs who are serviceable but easily replaced.
So, you think you have 4 - 5 DBs going in the NFL Draft this year? I doubt that. Not from what I saw last Saturday or in that opening game against U/Mass.
Performance on game day in college doesn't seem to matter much to the NFL many times based on some previous high draft picks.
Yes, uf has 3-4 secondary players that will play on Sunday, one bad game in college, no matter how centric to your universe it was, isn't going to end their nfl careers. Even by your estimation I just made an error in verbiage, the uf secondary alone will in fact have as many or close to as many players drafted as your entire defense. I know, I know, you guys beat us for the fist time in 12 years...but don't get crazy scooter, you guys may not even win the division, let alone anything that matters.
NFL G/Ms don't draft based on the number of trash talking twitter messages individuals make. They are not impressed by D/Bs who let W/Rs blow by them and catch TD passes with nobody within 20 yards.

What UT does from here on out is a question that I do not pretend to be able to answer. All I do know is that Jones' Staff finally OUT-COACHED a Florida staff . For the previous 3 years, they did manage to out coach Mark Richt( even though his teams were far better. Lost 2 by 3 points and won by 7 last season) and Steve Spurrier. Cost Spurrier the SECE in 2013. Came back from 14 points down twice in the 4th quarter to win in OT in 2014. Last year, even with a team that was far below Alabama's level, they out coached Saban and Kiffrat in Tuskaloosa. Had the lead with 2 minutes to go but just didn't have the horses facing a vastly superior team. A team that won the NC.
So, Jones is finally learning to compete in the SEC. It's taken him long enough and it's been damned frustrating at times.
But next year, his offense will have a far better Q/B than it has this year and if the staff keeps getting better, then I think that the SECEC will no longer be settled in Jacksonville

You are right. one game changes nothing but over the last couple of seasons it seems the east has set up more favorably. butch made it 3 in a row vs spurrier and ran him off, richt is gone and replaced by kirby smart, florida hired swamp donkey who doesnt seem too impressive and mizzou is mizzou. we seem to be ascendant while everyone else is mired in uncertainty.
i was joking bruh. try not to take this so seriously. besides he retired before butch could rack up another win against him
