College Playoffs 2024-2025

Has Franklin ever won a real big game at Penn State yet? In the playoff I would call that winning at least the game to make the championship game. It seems like they lose the 1 or 2 big games they play every season.

Kelly is going to be on a really hot seat if they go 8-4 or worse this coming season. Even 9-3 with no playoff berth will have some heat on him.
Not that it means anything but Kelly seems to be doing a better job than coach Ogre. It wasn't too long ago UF fired coaches like Muschamp, Zook and Butters for winning just 7 games.

I'm not defending Franklin, but he won at Vandy and actually recruited well there. Now, as for the rape cover-ups at Vandy, he's done the same over at Pedo Sandusky U.

Just crazy he usually loses almost every big game there. He is 1 - 15 there against AP top 5 teams I think I read. Luck alone should give you more wins than that with Penn State's overall records under him. He is good at not getting upset by lower level teams though.

This is what happens when Alabama and Georgia don't have a monopoly on player purchase.

Yep - curious to see how this plays out with big conference teams having like 20 million out of the football budget to spend on paying players starting with the next round of NIL stuff not even counting the teams that have the big money boosters paying players. I guess in theory it should make teams like Vandy etc more competitive.

At least it gives them the choice on whether they want to jump in the bidding wars. They might opt out, which is fine, it's now their option. Far far different from when the NCAA was handing out probation because a coach bumped into a junior while at a high school, meanwhile Bama and Georgia (and some others to a lesser extent) are rolling around with bags of cash they are handing out like candy with no repercussions.

Well, to be fair, he left Notre Dame when the Domers wouldn't pay for players but LSU would. Now we are seeing the result of what a school with the money of a Notre Dame can do when they are allowed to spend it, and the setback for LSU now that teams with more money, like Notre Dame, can bid for players. But yes, I do think he is a substandard coach, which certainly doesn't help matters.
