Ryan Day is a great recruiter and has a tremendous won/loss record, but his post season performance has been bad. Before the season it was reported that Ohio State had the biggest "payroll" of any team in the nation. Let's see if they can hang on to win this one. I sure don't want the Vols to win.

Yep 10-2 SEC teams that don't win the SECCG should be kept out of the playoff if possible.
Look at this schedule and just because you beat Alabama by 7 doesnt mean you deserve to be in the playoffs. The other 2 teams they played that were ranked at the time they played them ended up 6-6 each. Tenn dodged Texas, Ole Miss, LSU, South Carolina this year. And the Vols got that A$$ run ruled tonight

I like his other post as well.

"Huepel is dangerous when he has a lot of time to prepare."

Lol…what more do you want brutha?!?!?

The home teams kicked ass with home field in round 1, but it doesn’t mean that the teams that made it didn’t deserve to be there…
I want competition brutha, Love the Hulk Hogan analogy.

So much complaining, but I just like the expanded playoffs. FCS and lower divisions have been doing this for a long time and it's great. Just enjoy the ride and the fact that there's more football being played with 12 teams actually getting an opportuniity to win it all. Does the system now need to be tweaked? Of course. But at least they've gone this far and to me it's way overdue.

TN might have been outmatched but their coaching staff didn't adjust to what was going on at all. That QB may be overrated but why in the hell didn't TN start rolling him out to deal with that pressure some. On defense their line (their strength) wasn't doing good and it's like they were lost when that happened and didn't try new pressures much to at least try and protect their DBs and LBs some.

Yep the odds alone are that one of the 4 games should have been competitive. Not really sure if tweaking can improve it much but if they go to 14 teams it gives them a chance to only give 2 byes to the top 2 conference winners. Also if AZ St and Boise don't compete well there is the argument to keep the 3rd and 4th conference winners out of guaranteed high seeds. Not sure what else they can really do. They have to have at least one spot from the group of 5 and power 4 conference winners have to be guaranteed spots. I still don't see too many situations they put a 9-3 power 4 team in over an 11-1 power 4 team. I doubt most years you have two 11-1 teams like Indiana and SMU though.

I expected this. Not UT-OSU per se, but a bunch of blowouts overall. I said this a while ago: there are always blowouts in these CFP games, better to have them in the first two rounds and get a competitive final four than to only pick 4 teams and have two of them be posers so you get the blowouts at that level. If we suffer through blowouts the first two rounds but get a compelling final four, I'm ok with that.

Yes, the committee can tweak it a bit, I think only guaranteeing a home game, but not a bye, is enough of an incentive to win your conference. So only guaranteeing a top 8 seed would let better teams be seeded in the top 4. A formula that rewards tough schedules more than penalizes losses would also be good. But adding more teams is not the answer right now. When these games are all competitive, and lower seeds start winning regularly, so that we know we have reached a level of parity, we can consider adding more teams.

So to this point, Big 10 went 2-1 with two blowout wins and a blowout loss, SEC went 1-1 with a blowout win and a blowout loss, and the ACC got seal clubbed twice. Does Notre Dame semi-count as an ACC team? Then the ACC kinda sorta went 1-2.

I think we are likely to see 14 teams in the 26 season as I think the SEC and Big 10 will be pushing hard for a 4 team minimum from their conferences maybe with a stipulation that the 4 team minimum doesn't have to be filled if there are not at least 4 teams that go 9-3 or better in those conferences.
