Fox News averaged nearly 2.2 million viewers in primetime last week, including 303,000 in the coveted age 25-54 demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research. Fox News also topped cable news in total day ratings for the 47th consecutive week, averaging over 1.3 million viewers. The network also finished first among the 25-54 demographic for the 17th consecutive week, averaging 222,000 viewers.

In its early days, CNN was a respected news network. Their coverage of the Gulf War in 1990 / 1991 was generally fair and balanced.

They have fallen so far since then, and Wolf Blitzer has been there through it all. The opportunity has been there to stake out a middle ground between Fox and MSDNC, but they obviously prefer to be a duplicate liberal news network.

Things don’t seem to be on track to turn around for CNN, as the network’s special town hall event with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on the day she announced that articles of impeachment against President Trump were being drafted only averaged 1.6 million viewers and 410,000 in the demo on Thursday night, well behind both Fox News and MSNBC in both categories.
