Chip Kelly is still available

Mullen is the only coach in MsSt history to take a team to 7 consecutive bowl games.
I would take Mullen 1,000% over the Cow-Chip Kelly... o_O

Because he is good at not losing to the cupcake teams and .500 gets you in a bowl game now.

Tebow -- DAK -- Current QB. o_O

Meyer's Gator downfall began with the departure of Mullen.

And your claim about only cupcake teams is total BS too...

He only has one winning SEC season at Miss State after all those years. 2014 was the only good team but I admit he does seem to have found another QB that he needs for his sytem and their defense might be improved this season so I wouldn't be surprised if he pulls a big upset on one of the SEC West teams out of LSU and Auburn.

What about Dan Mullen? Guy is a kind of a douchebag, but he would bring back the same offense Urbie ran

You realize Mississippi State is the worst football job in the western division, and I don't think it is even close

This is true. Miss St is the worst job in the SEC West.

Mullen is a good coach. Maybe not a great coach but he would do much better than the last few coaches we have had.

Miss St. is probably only better than Vandy. That's a garbage job and in the best division in college football too. They even play second fiddle in their own state, there isn't a high ceiling there. Mullen has done a great job and has gotten much better as a coach from when he left UF.

I don't call it great because its been done there before for a year or two just like Mullen in 14. Look what Franklin quickly did at Vandy also. If he pulls a 5-3 SEC record this year I will give him a lot of credit because I think Bama and Auburn will be close to sure losses but he might have a team capable of beating an LSU on a given day and A&M looks bad with that backup QB.

You mean when Jackie Sherrill was cheating at Miss St?? What Mullen has done at Miss St has been pretty darn good. Don't forget he even beat Meyer & UF in the Swamp.

The only time they've ever had any success is when they were cheating. Every other time they've been at or below .500.

He hasn't been that impressive there. He only has one winning SEC record out of all those years. If he pulled a winning SEC record this season again that would raise his stock however. He needs a real elite QB to do anything.
Yeah and he plays in the West. Best MSU coach in my lifetime hands down. Florida would at best be a .500 team were it playing in that division over the time Mullen has been there. MSU should be in the CUSA. They just don't have the resources to compete.

I remember this conservation last year. Jackie Sherrill had some good years here and there at MSU.

We already know Jackie was very shady in some dealings. Plus the SEC West wasn't the best division in football back then. Alabama was mediocre and experiencing turmoil, Nick Saban was just starting at LSU, Ole Miss was mediocre or below average, Houston Nutt was at Arkansas and he was dictionary picture of mediocrity, Tommy Tuberville was cleaning up a mess left behind from Tater Tot Bowden. There was no Texas talent to worry about facing.

Heck really when JS won the West, Tuberville was one step out the door from probation riddled Ole Miss, Saban was at Michigan State, Mediocrity Nutt was doing what he always did, the Alabama coach was too busy sleeping with his secretary, Auburn was rock bottom, Texas A&M was in the Big 12.

The major point imo is that Mullen has the offensive system to win.
Mullen has proven that he knows how to choose and coach up a QB to operate his system.

* And Mullen is the ONLY HC in MsSt's history to go to 7 consecutive bowl games, where he is 5-2.

did anyone post the article about them talking chip to UF already?

Hire the Cow Chip, and keep Zaire to QB for him. o_O

A match made in hellsbells....
