Chip Kelly is still available

99% chance we aren't getting Kelly regardless. We will probably help Sumlin get an extra win but he needs to go 9-3 not to be fired and then you have the possibility ND's coach gets canned if he pulls a 7-5 or even possibly an 8-4 record.

Who would be some top candidates you would consider?

An elite tactician. That's our only hope. With Mac's recruiting if he gets 1-2 more years this roster will be in the bottom half of the SEC, hell its already starting to get there. We're gonna have to think outside the box. Pat Fitzgerald or somebody like that known for doing more with less. Wouldn't even be opposed to somebody like Kiffin at a minimum he'd get elite classes and fix the QB position. So if he bombs the next guy would have a stacked roster.

That is how it happens. Some staff changes are made before a head coach is fired. That is usually how these things work.

Heck it just about happened to Swinney at Clemson and he hired Chad Morris and it saved his job.

Kiffin might just be a big enough prick to right this thing. For his age he has a shit-ton of experience and it may all pay off one day. But he would have no issue going toe to toe with Jimbo in recruiting battles or on the field.

And yes, Macs poor recruiting showed itself yesterday

I remember everyone being pissed when Dabo's name came up when we hired Mac. lol. We were just so mich smarter.

And I agree on the normal progression, bit no. normal situation would have brought Nuss back this year. Can't pick and choose when you apply yhe 'normal' procedure

Recruiting has been an issue no doubt but you see coaches put together way better offenses with way less talent than fla. 3 years and the offense is at an all time low

No question. What's worst is that it's probably never been easier to score on offense than it is now and these clowns struggle to put together one TD a game against above average teams.

Oh, I am not arguing that. Just thought it was a forgone conclusion our staff can't scheme an offense.

Just saying with the majority of Champ's defenders gone, our poor recruiting and poor coaching became blatantly obvious yesterday. And it was still a Champ guy with one of the pick 6a

That would be amazing but outside of UF fans wanting a guy like Chip has anyone heard if he is remotely interested in Florida?

If we paid he would come. Think about his offense with Florida speed. Plus young kids love his offenses, he would kill it here. Hell people up here in Big10 country are scared to death of IF landing him. Just imagine what guys like Jimbo and Kriby think. He's good, very good. And if he could keep a guy like Seider he would be scary good.

Nuss will be the scapegoat.
desperado changes of coordinators when a coach is already in trouble almost never pan out. The time to make the OC change was after last season. ...not saying it won't happen, but those coordinator changes under duress are usually the final nail in the coffin

Correct. And Mac should take heat for bringing him back. But he knew this would give him a scapegoat. ZERO urgency by this guy. It was obvious last year that Nuss was not the answer. Honestly, should have been fired on the spot after the Tennessee game. Now Mac has this headache all year. The man just has absolutely no clue what he is doing. Least CEO skills of any HBC we have had in decades. He's not a P5 HBC

We aren't lucky enough to have chip kelly, we don't even deserve him... or lane kiffin

I am very curious to see the approach Stiklin takes when the inevitable happens. I can't imagine he will take the Foley approach and try and 'outsmart' everyone. And he isn't going to want a riot in Gainesville so i assume a Saban assitant is out of the question.

Mullen is going to be at the top of his list, don't you think? He has the highest winning percentage of any Miss State coach in the modern era. He has history at Florida. He knows the SEC

Everyone thinks Mullen because of the tie to MissSt. But again, I don't see the Meyer coordinators getting a look

Few years back I'd have said hell nah to Mullen but I'd be ok with it now. One thing you can't take away from him is the man finds and develops QB's, we need that in the worst way.

Why do you guys hate Mullen? Is it his personality? Bc what he has done at MSU is pretty remarkable...at least as impressive if not moreso than what Franklin did at Vandy and look what he has put together at PSU

He hasn't been that impressive there. He only has one winning SEC record out of all those years. If he pulled a winning SEC record this season again that would raise his stock however. He needs a real elite QB to do anything.

Mullen is the only coach in MsSt history to take a team to 7 consecutive bowl games.
I would take Mullen 1,000% over the Cow-Chip Kelly... o_O
