Trouble. I'm not sure he makes it at Texas. They looked totally inept on both sides of the ball yesterday. This may be his last year.

Way over his head at Texas. Amazing how the flagship university of the most football-rich state in the country loses that bad.

I feel awful for him personally. As for Texas, and whatever, mehhh....but it is an important message to those who advocated Strong as our HC.

Should have never gone there and stayed at Louisville, Texas is and was a train wreck. Mack Brown left that roster in awful shape, so much so that they didn't had their worst draft performance in the last 60 years last year. What's gonna hurt him is that the future QB isn't on that roster and idk if they'll give him the time to get that guy.

Charlie is a great guy and an excellent football coach. Oozie nailed it, he got on board a train wreck. I hope he can survive.

Mack Brown and his former HCIW destroyed that program to the point that The roster was depleted and UTx is now the third most popular program in the state. But he is in year two and they need to look a lot better than they did last night.

If the point of this is to say how smart we are more not taking Charlie, I will say I don't think he would have turned us in to the 4-8 mess Muschump did

Things in the state of Texas have been turned upside down in the years since I left.
UT is now behind aTm, TCU, and Baylor in terms of popularity as regards recruiting- Strong may have stepped into it and can't figure out where the exits are.

He has a pretty toxic culture to deal with and change. He's been dismissing attitudes for the last two years. You're either with him or out. Anyone is going to need a few years to rebuild that mess that Texas turned into since 09

Kids in Texas no longer dream about playing for UT. Those days are long gone, Charlie would have never got the job if the powers that be thought they could have done better.

It will take a mammoth size effort to undo Mack Brown's indifference to the program during his final three years there. Unfortunately, I don't think Charlie will get the time he will need to do it his way.

With that said, no matter how much disarray the program is dealing with, there is absolutely no excuse for the cluster cluck he put on the field against the Drunks...errr I means Irish. A few more performances like Saturday night and he won't survive the year.

Muschamp won 11 games in year 2

And to think...Muschamp was "head coach in waiting" at Texas. Where would things be if UF had hired Strong and Muschamp stayed at Texas? I'm afraid things would likely be the same.

We would have had Bridgewater come if Strong was HC. Probably would have had the run UL did in 2012, competed for a title too.

You mean the run in 2012 where they made it to the Sugar Bowl?

Yeah...wish we could have done that.

Too bad we didn't play in the AAC or whatever that garbage was called that Strong did so well in.

You know why they won 4 that year.. Strong is looking just like Muschamp right now and it's starting to look funny for the people that thought we for sure should have had him as our HC right now.

CS is in big trouble at Texas. If he doesn't show improvement this year the writing is on the wall. It is hard to believe he didn't go on the recruiting trail and find a top-notch QB for this year. There are several in Texas to choose from. He is also losing on the recruiting trail to A&M, Baylor and TCU. Even Houston got a verbal from a Top 10 DT. He better turn it around or the UT faithful will run him out of town. Although Mack Brown left a mess, CS should be fielding a competitive team right now. They are a dumpster fire.

Funny, people wanted to give Muschamp a decade to trash UF but those same people want UT to fire Strong a game in to year too when he inherited a dumpster fire

I remember more than a few of those "give Muschamp more time" spouting off on this board. They managed to stir up turmoil against other posters. Now they have vanished like magic. Poof!! Where have they all gone to? Could it be that the anti Muschamp crowd had it completely right?

i just turned on the auburn game and saw Muschamp on the sidelines. It literally made my stomach turn. Then I remembered he's not our problem anymore. My dislike for that jackass is borderline unhealthy.

It's generally more important to be right for the correct reasons.

I still find it hilarious that the people that wanted him gone the most can't seem to stop talking about him.

Because we all still feel the pain of his being Florida's coach. And many of us were saying he was a bad hire from the start. And even after his repeated failures and systematic destruction of the program he was allowed to stay another year.
He did his damnedest to dismantle everything that was Florida football before his arrival. History will show that he was one of the worst hires to a big time program ever. I mean he couldn't even fill a roster with 85 scholarship players. He was out of his depth in every single facet of head coaching.
And on top of all of that, he's a peckerhead of epic proportions

Furthermore Danny, nothing about Muschamp's tenure as a Gator coach is "hilarious" to a Gator fan. Now if Foley would have fired him on the field during the Ga Southern game I would have laughed my ass off.

I thought this as well last week, but after reflecting on it a bit, and, it hurts me to my heart to say it, but ND might be really good this year. UT might have just been outclassed. Can't judge a season one one game.

Could it be that the anti Muschamp crowd had it completely right? I'll take that reply as a yes.

Like I said. Be right for the right reasons.

Still talking about him instead of being excited about Mac and Grier etc.

Hang on to that hate. It's doing you good apparently.

:rolleyes:They officially have a name for themselves! The "anti Muschamp crowd"...well thought out I must say. LMAO

Completely Unofficial

I count TCU, Baylor and Aggie all ahead of UT for sure. You could argue for Tech

We want TEXAS, TEXAS, TEXAS and more TEXAS to win...Go Longhorns....And from what I am seeing today is Charley Strong.

I've always liked Charlie Strong and his defenses. If it wasn't for his defense at UF I don't think they would have won the 2 championships. I think the Texas players just needs to believe in themselves and play their potential...
