It seems like every year we start out talking about how our DB's are deep and talented and then we have about 6 guys go down and it becomes true freshmen and guys playing out of position just to have enough bodies.

Dan, whatever we are doing with our DB's in practice, please stop.

Early speculation is he's out "a couple of weeks"...not sure if that's pie in the sky thinking nor have I seen an official report on the injury but I'm hoping for the best.

GBO,

Last time I broke a bone, it took a lot longer than" a couple of weeks" for me to mend & get back to where I was.

I wasn't playing football with LARGE MEN blocking & tackling me when I was trying to heal up either !

I haven't' seent the exact diagnosis put out there - small fracture, which bone exactly nor severity. I too am pretty leery about "a couple of weeks" - at this point that's all I've read though. It may not be good intel but there's nothing else out there I've seen.

Really can't trust coachspeak about injuries anymore, since they decided athlete's injuries were covered by HIPPA privacy laws. Now we only get vague descriptions of the injury and ballpark estimates on returns. So it's pretty much he'll be back when he's back.

100% - had I more time on my initial post I'd have given the quote more context...I'd take the "about 2 weeks" as more than the best case scenario. lol you could have a guy get a foot amputated and the coach would be like "lower extremity muscle pull - back next week"

Tough luck for Fenley, but he wasn't needed as a DB, just as a backup in the rotation there.
They were hoping that he might be a kick and punt return man though.
The 'Return Man' spot is wide open with several candidates being looked at.

Nothing more that this as a possible secondary roster,,,

"It's Possible"

FS Donovan Stiner 6-1 203 Sr
#18 SS Rashad Torrence 6-0 185 Fr (Natl-311)

Star/S Brad Stewart 6-0 200 Sr

CB/Star Marco Wilson 6-0 190 rsJr
CB Kaiir Elam 6-2 187 So

The 2020 secondary will be made up of starters, and then a large group of rotational players getting plenty of playing time.
