Can't believe the media is making the same mistake again. Will they ever learn?

For Better or for Worse....

Defensive Departures to the NFL -- Next Up
CB Jalen Tabor ----- Duke Dawson / Joseph Putu
CB Quincy Wilson - Chauncey Gardener (Bowl MVP) / Chris Williamson
FS Marcus Maye ---- Nick Washington / Quincey Lenton

DE Brian Cox Jr ---- Jordan Sherit / Luke Ancrum
DE Keivonnis Davis / Jabari Zuniga / Antonneous Clayton

QNG = Quality New Guys -- mostly for rotation depth, but a few might start.
This is not new at UF - Overall in 2016, 16 of Florida’s 25 signees played in at least one game. More than half (13) of the class played in 10 games or more. In all, 16 signees participated in 166 games combined, making 31 starts. That doesn’t include Eddy Pineiro, who was Florida’s starting kicker all season but isn’t credited with 13 starts because he’s a specialist.

But hey, those 23 incoming 2017 freshmen don't mean much, if they are QNG's, right?

Why will the 2017 offense be better than 15-16?
Florida has 10 of its 11 starters back from last season. The Gators return their top six receivers, 4 starters on the OL and a talented stable of 3+2 RB's, with one of these QB's as the likely new starter, (Trask-Franks-Allen). Now add in what I see as upgrade coaches at OL and RB. The Gators have had 11 freshmen who started on offense the past two years.

None of this will change the typical 'doom & gloomers' attitudes though....

If he can learn to take control of the huddle a lead the offense, I'll be happy.

Problem is, his highly limited high school time makes him a massive question mark .

We've learned all too well about practice warriors at QB the last several years.

"Trask was the story of the spring last year with a strong showing in the Orange & Blue Debut, receiving high praise from his teammates."

Note: Apparently receiving 'high praise' from your teammates = a lack of leadership.

~~ Trask, Franks, and Allen have all demonstrated 'leadership' for years now as QB's, otherwise they wouldn't be on UF's roster...

Every quote from other Gator players that I've seen on Franks or on Trask, have all credited them with being good QB's/leaders. And I don't recall either of them being in trouble (poor leaders) for anything off the field either.o_O

lol Insta is so easy.

Bring up Trasky-poo and he gets all hard.

Without the assistance of viagra.

Know what else is funny? I have little doubt that Trask has stumbled across this board and thinks Insta is a creepy son of a bitch.

Gawds but you're more boring than a dead raccoon on the side of the road. All you're ever good at is stinking up the place and putting adults to sleep... zzzzzzzzzzz

I hope Trask reads this.

Even he knows that you're unfaithful to him.

Try as you might, I'll always be the man you want.

Going back to the original topic: I think it is better to be under rated than over. It is also easier for the coaches to use as a motivational tool. Motivation is extremely important when coaching college athletes. This ranking is good for us - I like it.

One other thought whilst I'm at it... for too long now we (Gators) seem to have been in a fog about who we are and where we're going and I'm tired of it. It is time we get back to being mean and lean and hungry. We don't need to worry about the Bulldogs or Tennessee or FSCW we need to concentrate on getting our on act together. If somebody takes a jab at us or belittles us we should say thank you because we need that ... we need to get back to being lean and hungry and it doesn't matter who we play, And the first game of the season next year (Michigan) will be the perfect test because the last game we played them (bowl game)they kicked our buts, it was embarrassing. So if we have motivated our guys right we should have something to prove when we play that game. So this first game of the year next year will tell us something about wha kind of coaches we have and what kind of team we are going to be watching. I hope we see a mean-lean fighting machine because I tired of watching our team play like we're in a fog.
